We have a large open bottom floor in our home, and it definitely has the ability to cool it. Energy efficient and multiple settings for fan speed. Convenient remote control. Obviously, an in the wall mounted air conditioner isn't for everyone, but i love the idea of not having a window blocked and no large unit sitting on my floor for a portable air conditioner. Great option from a trusted brand.

It cools my bedroom evenly, which I usually have trouble with when using AC units. It's definitely not completely silent, but it is notably quieter than any window unit I've had over the years. The settings give me plenty of control to adjust the airflow and speed, and I love having a remote. Though, I tend to expect these features on modern units and at this price point. It arrived with wear and tear on the box due to the weight, but the actual unit was thankfully packed well and in perfect condition. BE SURE to read the instructions thoroughly before attempting to install! Determining the placement and what was involved was SO important. Especially since the unit is around 80 pounds! Installation was no small task and there wasn't much room for error at that weight. It took two of us to get it set up properly. Then we had to learn how to operate it! I really like the energy saving features and the 24 hour timer. The trim gives it a sleek look, but honestly doesn't feel super durable long-term. However, the unit itself is solid and well built. It has been such a great improvement for the comfort of the space and seems like it will hold up a long time. I'm really glad I went with this model, and relieved that I checked measurements before selecting it! I did receive this product to try in exchange for my honest review.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This LG 9800 btu air conditioner is very powerful! It has a lot of settings on it from fan, to low cold to high cold. The remote is very operational and convenient as well. It is a little bit difficult to install by yourself because it is big and bulky. But with two people it installs quite easily. Its powerful enough to cool down about 600 sq ft of space in my house, so it definitely cools more than its rated to in my opinion.

It does come with a remote which is a nice added bonus. Instructions were straightforward and easy to follow. I cannot wait to get some use out of this in the warmer months. The air comes out so cold.

This room air conditioner by far is something I enjoy now coming home. It keeps my very chill feeling like by home. It was easy to install on the window, and the remote controls are easy to use. Overall, I’d say this is the model I’d recommend to everyone! It’s great and efficient.

Really keeps my apartment cool. I have windows on the west side so it was very warm (80's to 90's). This unit keeps it in the 70's. So grateful.

I got this at no charge through a program for low income seniors. It works great - whatever temperature I set it at that's what it cools to. My previous one my apartment was 80s or 90s. I am so much more comfortable.

They installed them and they are not only nice looking, but are super quiet and energy efficient. I love them.

I bought it pre-season so I really haven't used it yet. I am hopeful that that it will work great based on other LG items I have had. Only thing I wish it had Bluetooth capability so I could control it from my phone remotely.

I love this air-conditioner. It kept my bedroom cool and comfortable all summer and I enjoyed huge savings on my electric bills! It looks great and the remote control is wonderful, especially in the bedroom.

This air conditioner has been working great and at a much better price than the other brands that I had looked at. One of them was a well known, long established brand and was almost double the price, which is ridiculous. The appliance store I bought this unit at told me they have nothing but problems from that really expensive unit too. They gave me multiple units to choose from and they thought this was my best choice to get the specs I was looking for at the most reasonable price. So far, I have no complaints at all. I will definitely be looking at LG appliances any time I need to purchase anything again.

Bought and installed this about a month ago and have been using it on and off ever since. Massive upgrade from the ancient unit that my apartment came with, cools the room very nicely and quickly. I like the dehumidification function and the remote control as well. Took off a star for two reasons. First, the instructions are extremely unclear (there are three or four different sets of instructions, each slightly different) and the extra parts (foam, various brackets and gratings) that are included are totally unlabeled, so it was confusing to figure out which ones I actually need. There is a short foam piece that you're supposed to stick on top of the unit before sliding it in, but it (obviously) gets blocked by another foam piece inserted into the sleeve. I was able to get the unit into the wall eventually with some brute force, but I wish the instructions made more sense. Second, there is a tendency for the front filter grate and the included molding to rattle sometimes. It can get loud enough to be annoying. It goes away if I wiggle the unit a little bit, but I wish there was just some extra padding or rubber around the grate connections and molding so the plastic doesn't rattle when the unit is running. Pretty happy overall, hope it lasts for many years.
