Q: When the microwave finishes, the lock icon appears. Holding Stop for 3 seconds displays a dashed symbol, but the door stays locked. I have to unplug it to open the door. Once unplugged, the door opens normally. Is this expected behavior or a defect?

Less than 6 months old with normal use and is a fire hazard

Bought this in October. Have kept it clean and use it like a normal family does on a daily basis, but it's sparking while reheating broccoli for 15 seconds on half power. On a ceramic plate. With no metal in sight. So the thing is less than 6 months old and is now a fire hazard, which is why I got rid of my last microwave. Don't buy. I'm getting a different brand next time, even though this came reviewed by Consumer Reports.

Did not work upon arrival. Its an expensive paper wieght.

Arrived package damaged. Either missing parts, or incorrect parts packed with item, was inoperable (wrong plate or missing carousel adapter?). Without a plate that would work no way to tell if it actually beyond the power coming on. As such it was NON FUNCTIONAL. But since you can't have a ZERO star rating, here you go. Overall was this a problem with B&D quality control, or was this a previously opened and returned item? If the latter then its all on Target for not checking the item. Unfortunately I am physically disabled and cannot travel well or carry a microwave on the bus. So I am stuck with delivery service from Target.

The oven received was not working properly. the light would not shut off and the turntable kept spinning even with the door closed. sigh. It's at this point I realized all the trouble someone has to go to to return a product. Stressful and time consuming.
