Try anything else
Went on a trip to the Bahamas and everyone who use this product was burned some with second-degree burns. We reapplied at several times it did not work.

Love this sunscreen, a bit white to rub in but I prefer that so I can see where I have missed spots. My babies are very fair and sensative skin and this is great!

Causes skin rash
I took this on a cruise with excursions that required reef safe sunscreen. Everyone that used it developed a scaly bumpy rash where it was applied. It became extremely dry and really itchy, took a week to clear up. This is even the "sensitive" lotion.

White Cast + made me break out
this left such a bad white cast. I'm a person of color and I reapplied every 2 hours and it wad like I rolled in a flour paste. it says for sensitive skin but it made me breakout. I did not use this for my face and neck ONLY for the rest of my body (torso/legs/arms/hands/feet).

New owner, new formulas, poorer quality
Used to love Blue Lizard. With their sale to Crown Labs, the quality is not the same. My kiddo and I ended up with sunburn, even with reapplying. Won’t be buying any longer.

Really fantastic for people on immunosuppressants
I have photosensitivity so severe that I get hives from fluorescent lights and this stuff has legitimately changed my life. Works great, doesn't negatively impact my skin like chemical sunscreen & it's honestly incredible for relieving severe itch from light exposure, which has significantly increased my quality of life. I'm not stuck awake until 6am or having to spray my legs down with cold water every hour and a half because I'm unbearably itchy. I've been using it nightly on a pretty much daily basis for a month on my calves and and ankles with no skin irritation or clogged pores. Absolutely cannot recommend it enough, especially to people trying to deal with severe itch, including neuropathic itch and itching from profoundly dry skin.

The smell is awful
I wanted to like this sunscreen but the longer it sits on my skin the more fragrant the smell becomes and it is awful!

More sunburn than WITHOUT sunscreen
Never burned so bad in my life. Living on the gulf coast of Florida, my family usually maintains a tan year round so we burn less often. We have been inside more frequently lately so I decided to buy this sunscreen to prevent burns until we built our tolerance. We applied every half hour and I should’ve known better because we seemingly began burning instantly upon initial application. It has left my entire family more burned than we have ever experienced.

Don't purchase!
I got this sunscreen because I heard it had cleaner ingredients. It worked fine and protected my skin from the sun. However, it when I showered/washed it off it left my skin feeling rubbery and like the product was still on. I washed three times and I still felt it on my skin.

Price and durability
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I loved how well it absorbs; plus, its durability is noticeable—you put it on, go into the water, and when you come out, you still have product on! Recommended for teenagers. The price is competitive with other brands.

Terrible white cast and greasy texture
I’m sure the ingredients are clean and safe for reefs/protects your skin fine, but the white cast this leaves is ridiculous, even on my pale skin. It also feels greasy and heavy.

Nee formula causes a rash!
We used this product for years until they updated the formula in 2025. My child had a severe rash in every area that sunscreen was applied. I thought it was from something else so we reapplied the next day and it became worse! Skin tests a week later showed horrible reactivity. What did they out in this product that is making everyone get severe rashes?!?!?!

Greasy
It doesnt seem like im allergic to this one? It is still very greasy, i would not wear it daily, but it seems like it would be good for water parks because of the grease? Its not labeled non comedogenic so it might cause acne, which i do not appreciate from a sensitive skin selling standpoint. It also is a little thinner than id like. But i suppose it does work.

Sensitive skin
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great sunscreen for both kids and adults. It’s hypoallergenic so it’s great for people that has sensitive skin like eczema or psoriasis as well as baby’s sensitive skin.

The best just perfect
Blue lizard is the best sunscreen available. I have very fair and sensitive skin and this sunscreen is not made with any harmful chemicals. Great for children, adults alike. It’s also reef safe a definite must for the ocean. I go on vacation every month or so and a lot of countries only allow reef safe sunscreen making it perfect for the ecosystem
