You have to use ALOT to get the chocolate milk taste. We already put a lot & to me it still tasted like milk. I would just spend the extra $1 or so to get the name brand.

Bad texture
Flavor is fine, it’s chocolate sauce. But the texture is ick. It drips and sticks and goops in a way that Hersheys doesn’t. When I scoop a spoonful of ice cream with this sauce on it, I have to wait for it to finish doing its weird messy stringy drip between the spoon and the bowl before taking a bite. Every bite. Annoying and gross.

We used this chocolate on ice cream and it was just fine! It didn’t taste any different than other brand chocolate syrups from the store. However, the reviews say it isn’t great for milk.

Metallic after taste
This chocolate syrup tastes horrid. My family and I attempted to make chocolate milkshakes using Favorite Day vanilla ice cream and this syrup. After the first sip we could all taste the same weird after taste but couldn't put our fingers on it. After discarding the milkshakes we tasted the milk to be sure it hadn't soured and the ice cream which tastes like vanilla ice cream. When we tried this syrup it had an almost metallic after taste and it lingered. If you are in the aisle debating, trust me and splurge on the Hershey's.
