  • A: The dBA on this model is 57 on low and 61 on high. This is equivalent to a normal conversation. Actual sound levels can be a little different once an appliance is installed in the home. You might find your air conditioner is quieter or louder than the decibel rating suggests.

Q: If we buy the air condtioner can it be stored in the outside shed. It gets sometimes 20 below zero. WE want to make sure if the one we currently have quits we can replace it with this. thank you

  • A: Hey there - we're happy to help answer this question! The air conditioner can be stored in a non-heated area, but be sure to keep it upright. If the unit is placed on its sides or back, the compressor could be damaged. We also strongly recommend storing it in the original packaging to ensure extra protection from the weather. Q: I have a narrow window, 18.75 inches wide. Can this fit? what is the smallest I can make the side panels?

Q: does it dehumidify / remov does this unit remove moisture from air and if so at what rate?

  • A: Hi - Great question! The air conditioner's dehumidification rate is about 1.4 pints per hour. Warm humid air from the room condenses on the indoor coil where it's thrown against the condenser coil. Let us know if any other questions come up.   • A: Hi! Thanks for taking the time to ask! This model has a decibel rating of 57/61 dbA. This equates to 60 dB which would be around the volume of a normal conversation / dishwasher or 50 dB which would be about as loud as moderate rainfall according to an article on our GEA website titled "Air Conditioner - Sound and Decibel Rating." And yes, this model comes with all mounting brackets, screws, rails, and side curtains for installation.     Easy to install.

    Nice features, easy to install. Nice quiet operation. Just does not cool good! Does not take humidity out of the air good. Operates more like a 3000 btu air unit!

    We'd like to help you with the cooling performance of your unit. We recommend setting the temperature controls to a higher number (please keep in mind that using Eco mode will result in wider variations in room temperature and humidity). Additionally, we recommend cleaning the air filter every 30 days by sliding it out from the left side of the unit. Remove the filter and clean it with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and let the filter dry completely before replacing it.     Not self-condensing. Yay! No moldy smell.

    Excellent A/C. Very quiet. Cools a small room well. Best of all, it doesn't self-condense the moisture. Drips Condensation outside the house from the bottom of the unit. No moldy smell. Yay! I'm very pleased with my purchase.

    Cools great!

    Cools my bedroom very well! It's not real heavy so i was able to put in window without help. I would definately recommend this air conditioner. It's not too noisy so sleep comes easy.

    DO NOT BUY IF YOU DONT LIKE NOISE

    I’ve had this AC for 2 Years and about a year in it just started doing this rattling noise and just does it randomly and gets louder and louder the longer you leave it on. Then some days it doesn’t do it at all?????? It’s as loud as a an air pump LOUD AND RATTLES!

    There are four things you can check for a rattling noise in your air conditioner; 1. The front grille may be loose or broken. Remove the grille and inspect it to confirm it is not broken. If it is not broken, reinstall the grille. The instructions for removing and reinstalling the grille is in the Owner's Manual on the QHNE06AA product page of our Haier Appliances website. 2. Check and clean the air filter. Debris and dirt from the exterior of the air conditioner should be removed. 3. The movable louvers are loose or broken; check and adjust the louvers. 4. With window units, improper installation can cause vibration in the window sill. Check the Installation Instructions for proper installation guidelines. Lauren@Haier

    Started leaking after a year!

    Purchased this last summer when my previous AC broke. It was put back in this summer and it started leaking and not cooling the way it should be. Ended up buying another AC because to have some come check this one would cost the same mount as getting a brand new one. Have another from this brand that I’ve been using for 2-3 years and it works fine but this particular one is already leaking after buying it last summer.

    We understand the disappointment caused by this situation. The air conditioner is not tilted to the outside If the water is dripping inside. For proper disposal, make sure the air conditioner slants slightly from the case front to the rear.

    Great product for the price

    I have this AC unit and am very pleased with it. I use in my bedroom, it is quiet to run and does the job. I have a small house and with the help of a fan to circulate the cool air my house remains comfortable all summer

    Remote control and auto on/off is excellent

    Product seems sturdy and cools down the room in no time . Very quiet and my Electricity hasn’t gone up even remotely as high as my other competitor units have had it skyrocket .

    Do not buy

    I bought the Haier QHNE06AA window air conditioner at an end of summer sale last year. I installed it last month and it does not work. The temperature sensor is broken or just wildly inconsistent. In 90 degree weather outside, with it being 80 degrees in the house according to multiple sources, it consistently will flucuate and will read below 64 degrees 90% of the time. As the unit only turns on when it reads above 64 degrees, it's utterly useless. Unfortunately I bought it last year and can no longer return this hunk of junk.
