Bedford Clock Collection 33 Inch Chiming Pendulum Wall Clock in Antique Cherry Oak Finish

This is a beautiful wall clock for not a lot of money! It looks like a miniature Grandfather clock! The Ave Maria and Westminster chimes sound realistic and play at a good volume, which is adjustable. However, the eight Christmas melodies which play in sequence as the hours pass, sound a bit electronic. I had some trouble getting the chime to match the hour, it seemed to fall an hour out of sync every day even though I used brand new batteries. After replacing the batteries again and resetting the clock, the chime is now is staying synchronized with the hour. it has been keeping good time and the chime now matches the hour for the past three days. It is working perfectly and sounding great now! I rated the clock four out of five stars because of the difficulty getting the chime to match the hour and there was a hole punched in the box when it arrived but the clock was undamaged. If not for those issues, I would have given five stars.

This is a nice, smaller grandfather-style clock. We wanted a full size, but cost and space were a problem. This is the only smaller version I could find. It looks great. Packaging was problematic; there was a large gouge in the box, but the clock remained unharmed. It's a Christmas present, so I haven't set it up to test the chime yet and can't comment on that.

I live in a townhome so a full scale $5,000 classic grandfather clock would look out of place. But this classy little miniature grand father clock fits in nicely. It is all electronic, with two AA batteries powering the clock hands and digital audio chimes, and two more AA batteries powering the pendulum. There are four different options for the type of hourly chime that you want to hear including (1) Saint Michael's music and hourly strike (2) Westminster music and hourly strike (3) Strike only and (4) Christmas music. There's also a volume control for the chime. The chime sounds like a real chime and not a cheap electronic sound. The clock also arrives fully assembled. It also automatically does not chime after 9 PM until 6 AM, so you can have silence during the night.
