The application technique of this versatile formula influences the look and wear- it may be worn alone or with other lip colours and, if preferred, you can easily extend the wear by filling in your lip area with a lip liner prior to application. This really does compliment my natural skin tone and lip shade so naturally without making me feel like a clown. The price is more approachable than I anticipated as well. I ended up getting the original black honey but came back to get the pink honey because I liked the original so much.

I'm not a fan of the goopiness and color transfer that most lipstick has, but I look washed out without any color on my lips, so this is a nice in-between. It feels like chapstick, and keeps my lips soft, but adds just enough color for an easy low maintenance look. Black Honey is my favorite, on my light/neutral skin tone. I recently bought the new Nude Honey in the hopes it might also be a good match, but it's not quite enough color for me and looks like I'm wearing nothing. (see comparison picture) The Black Honey adds some color, but not too much, and matches just about everything. It's easy to keep in my bag and swipe on as needed throughout the day. One downside: If you go to an event that has a metal detector or a theme park and have this in your bag, they'll flag you every time, thinking it's a vape or something! LOL

I was hesitant at first, because it leans more on the brown side rather than red. my all time favorite lipstick is black honey, so I was super excited to try this one. it does not glide on as easily as black honey right out of the package, however i'm sure that it will glide fine after a few uses. you can build up the pigment with each swipe which I love! and it pairs really well with the lip oil!
