We're sorry you're disappointed with the scent of you recent purchase of Dawn, and have found the smell/flavor lingering on your dishes. Extensive research and consumer testing goes into our products to create appealing features, and our products undergo stringent quality controls to ensure performance and safety. When the soap scent lingers on your dishes, there could be a few potential causes for this happening. Over time, dish soap buildup can accumulate on dishes. Also, if you have hard water, it can interfere with the effectiveness of the soap and leave behind residue (using a water filter may help). For best results, add about 2 tablespoons of dish soap to the sink, then add water that’s 105-115°F. We don't recommend leaving to soak long term, but to wash promptly, and rinse the dishes thoroughly with clean water. We appreciate you sharing this with us, and for your loyalty to Dawn. A lack of suds/bubbles does not mean the product is not cleaning your dishes. Even if there are very few suds, the solution will carry on cleaning the dishes. Using a scouring pad or washing a lot of extra greasy dishes can make the suds disappear more rapidly. To remove the scent from your dishes, soak the items in hot water with some distilled white vinegar added to it, or if they're dishwasher safe, pour some vinegar into the bottom of the dishwasher and directly into the dispenser, then run them through the machine. It may take a couple of cycles, but the smell will come out. Additionally, you can rewash your hands with mild hand soap to remove the scent. Your satisfaction is important to us, and we hope you'll give Dawn another try. We have a variety of scents if the Original no longer meets your needs, including an unscented version called Dawn Free and Clear, Unscented.
