I usually like target items for fast dinners. We bought one package for two adults and one child. With plenty of other meat options. Luckily, we had ground beef and chicken and we were just giving this a go. The portion size of meat was tiny inside the water. Not even enough for my husband to put in a burrito. The flavor was not there at all. We were really disappointed.

Nothing like the picture
All I got was 2 1/2 small slabs of beef in a watery “sauce”. Decent flavor but a bit chewy with some large globs of fat. I had to try to shred the beef with a knife.

This was a horrible disappointment. One chunk of meat and there was so much fat in it that it was not edible. I couldn’t shred or even slice the meat. The entire thing went into the garbage.

This was a serious disappointment. The picture on the packaging shows shredded beef. We got two huge hard chunks of beef, compounded together with fat and gristle. Not able to shred it myself, just had to cut it into chunks once I cut out all the gross bits. I won’t buy again

I was so excited to try this especially because barbacoa is so hard to find in my area. When I dumped the meat into a pot what I got was a giant chunk covered in nerves. I tried to shred it afryer letting it boil for 10 minutes and I could barely pierce it with a fork. Almost looked like it could be a heart. I’m so disappointed and disgusted.

Quick and Easy Barbacoa Fix
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It was okay for something quick and easy. The 12 oz package made enough for about four or five tacos, and I liked that it added a good amount of protein to the meal without much effort. I also appreciated that it is made with real ingredients, which makes it feel a bit better than some other quick options. The flavor was decent, but if you are picky about barbacoa or used to authentic versions, this might not fully hit the mark. That said, it is convenient and ready in minutes, which makes it great to keep on hand for a quick option. For an easy cheat meal it gets the job done and I would probably buy it again.
