Doesn't Work with My Laptop

This adapter doesn't work with my Dell Precision running Linux. My laptop works with other passive USB-C and Thunderbolt Displayport alt mode adapters, so I was surprised that this one didn't work despite using the same protocol. I do not believe the product was defective, because it works with my secondary Windows laptop.
