The blade is indeed sharp, but it has a concave section on it. This means that instead of just chopping, you have to also slide the blade, or else you'll be left with produce that is connected in the middle but cut through on either side. :(

SHARP and heavy
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very happily surprised by this knife. It’s weighted very nicely and sharp and cuts vegetables perfectly. It is made of carbon steel and the blade is heavy, however the handle is ergonomic and makes it very easy to hold. This design is different from typical chopping/dicing knives that use the rocking motion to cut and instead you lift and slice with each cut, so something easy to use is key and this definitely is designed nicely. Priced very well for the quality you receive.

Affordable and versatile

Excellent for chopping vegetables, and its flat edge ensures consistent cuts with minimal effort. For the price, it’s a fantastic introduction to this knife shape and performs as well as more expensive alternatives. Highly recommended for cooks looking for an affordable yet high quality knife!

Like an extension of my arm
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After graduating from Culinary Arts School, knives are something I’ve become very picky about. I love my knives and generally stick to a few of my favorite brands. So, when I got offered to try the 7-in Nakiri Knife by JoyJolt to try and review, I was so excited. This knife is in the medium-low range of cost for decent knives (I’ve spent over $150 on just 1 in the past). Usually price does indicate quality of the knife, with a few exceptions. I would definitely say this Nakiri Knife is one of those exceptions. Holding a knife should feel like an extension of yourself. This has such a wonderful grip, good weight and perfect feel that make it easy to slice through multiple types of products. I don’t hate my knives, so I didn’t take it to a brick, but cooking with the Nakiri was smooth and seamless. The blade slices through foods with ease and the wide blade makes it easy to scoop up smaller pieces to transfer into your pot. The indentations along the face of the blade reduces food from sticking. Overall I’m excited to be adding this blade to my collection of kitchen knives and I can’t wait to see how it holds up in the long run.

Passed the paper test
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It passed the paper test. It’s great for the price. It was easy to cut the paper and we did multiple tries.  Easy to hold in the hand and some thing I would recommend. Of course you can go for nicer, but this is great for the price.

Great Knife, Great Value
This knife is great especially for the price! I also really appreciated the box it came in. I don’t have a knife block, so instead of just putting it loose in a drawer I keep it in the original box! My sister has a name brand Nakiri and I honestly think this performed better and the handle feels nicer for a fraction of the price!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product complimentary from Influenster for an fair and unbiased review. This is a great knife! I like that it's comfortable to hold when chopping, although I did have to get used to the length of the blade. It was very sharp, used it to chop onions and it worked remarkably well. I also liked that I was able to use the knife as a scoop to pick up the onions. Definitely would purchase this item, just need to be careful not to cut my fingers :)

Great knife!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This chefs knife is really great! It's very sharp and I cut my finger with it so definitely be careful! I highly recommend it as it's very good quality. It cuts like butter. I used it for many different things. I made beef jerky hash and chopped the jerky up great. I used it to cut brisket into strips. It worked like a charm. I highly recommend!

Really good knife
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far I am really liking this JoyJolt 7-in Nakiri Knife High Carbon Steel Kitchen Knife. It comes in a very nice box with a magnetic closure and plastic protectors on the tips on the knife blade. I like that its easy to hold and not too bulky. I like that the metal of the blade goes all the way through the handle, making it more sturdy. I found that it makes splitting chicken breasts in half super easy. I also found that this knife is great for veggies like it claims. I would highly recommend this knife and this brand. Just be careful when washing so you don't cut yourself! Its very sharp!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This knife is very, very, very, sharp! It allows precise cutting. I was able to cut potatoes, paper thin for the perfect thin potato chips. It is lightweight and the handle is not made of real wood so it is really light. The handle as a wood grain like texture but it seems to be made of a strong plastic. You have to be very careful with this knife because it is so sharp. It was just what I was looking for. I used it many times and it still is as sharp as it was after my first use. I do not see this knife needing any sharpening. Any time in the future. The quality is of this knife compares with way more expensive brands. I am extremely happy with this purchase. It is also packaged really nicely.
