Vintage Leather VTL801 Hand Woven Indoor Accent Rug - Brown/Natural - 4'x6' - Safavieh

Soooo... this rug was quite beautiful upon receiving, it perfectly matches the decor style I have going at the moment, the leather is very soft, it arrived in very good condition, and also well packaged. I've had it for 2 months now and I've taken care to clean it properly and without causing any unnecessary or extra damage to it. So now, just 2 months later, it's not looking so great, the tan woven lines have unraveled in a few places and are sticking up, and multiple areas of the black woven leather has begun to do the same, sticking out, just making it look as though I've owned it for much longer than I have, and as though it's in a high traffic area (which it's definitely not). I intend to keep it for as long as possible, it's unfortunate that it's not looking as nice as it did when I first received it and added it to my matching decor, but I honestly can't see this lasting much longer at all. I'll need to replace it sooner than I'd expected and although I still really like the colors of it, it wouldn't be very smart of me to replace it with a new version of the same item. Especially given the price for the short amount of time it's provided as attractive decor. Also as a side note, although I knew this prior to making the purchase, just in case anyone else doesn't think of it, be aware that these types of woven rugs will pick up and catch every little crumb, hair, and bit of debris, in which a good deal of will become caught within the weave. You'll either need to gently pick everything out by hand or else it'll look dirty even after cleaning. I own a specific cordless low-powered vacuum, that I can remove the roller from, so as to simply gently suck up any normal dirt and debris without causing unnecessary damage by pulling or rolling over the weave. You can also clean it by taking it outside and shaking it out but if you purchase the larger size (as I did), it'll be quite heavy and bulky, making this task not so easy. I gave it 3 stars because it's truly a beautiful design and the leather itself is so soft, but unfortunately with the wear and tear surfacing so quickly and without any known cause on my part, it's unfortunately a piece which won't last very long, that is unless you're planning to use it in an area where you won't mind this wear and tear as much, such as kids or pets play area's, or area's that you don't intend to entertain guests frequently. It really is ashamed because brand new, it's such an attractive piece.
