Q: Our Huffy 6V Tonka Quad Ride-On ATV had an energized battery in the box. manual says to charge it for 8 to 10 hours. Is this battery suposed to be pre charge? Should we still charge 8 to 10 hrs?

I purchased this toy for my godson for Christmas who just was discharged from Children’s Hospital. On Christmas Day we assembled it and found that the back part of the seat was missing and the horn would not blow.

Horrible

It doesn't even move, the wheels just spin, on wood floors, carpet, and even outside. It also does not even turn very well. I will be returning this.

Huffy and Tonka dropped the ball with this product!

I bought this just a couple of months ago from Target for my 20 month old grandson. He only got to ride it maybe 10 times a total of a few hours before it stopped working. It's never been outside, and he is the only child that has been on it and weighs 24lbs. So well under the weight limits. It still has a charge because the horn works but pushes the power button, and nothing happens. No noise from the motor or movement whatsoever. It's a lot of money to spend on about 4 or 5 hours of playing. I specifically bought this because of the brands that are connected with it. I could have ordered some generic off brand knock-off for about half the price, and he'd still have at least another year of riding it. The only reason I was generous enough to give it 2 stars is because it's cute and easy to assemble and operate and goes on carpet with no issues. I am absolutely disappointed with Huffy and Tonka for selling a 80 paperweight to customers.

Not worth buying

The horn doesn’t work. The battery dies fast. The side where you place your feet is to small. My child has to ride it barefoot to feel comfortable. For reference my child is 2.75 inches tall, 26 lbs and his shoe size is 6/7 toddler.

Not for hardwood floors

This thing is loud and noisy. It also does not run well on hardwood floors, as it cannot get traction to go. We ended up putting electrical tape around the back tire to get traction.

Pros: lightweight, easy to use, good for PT for kid who need practice using both hands/steering (only reason I’m keeping it) Cons: annoying to put together, motor only pushes on rear wheel, motor is VERY loud, can fall backwards easy, instructions said needs to be charged 8-12 hours before first use, can’t be used on grass or smooth hard flooring (best on concrete with some texture to grip), cramped for kids over 30” tall
