Q: Am I supposed to remove the styrofoam from inside the top of the the lid/cover that comes with it? It doesn’t seem to fit over the machine with it in there but it is extremely difficult to remove!

    Horrible. Don’t waste your money here.

    Horrible. Do not waste your money. I got this on sale about a year ago and it suddenly stopped working. It doesn’t even turn on (stopped working less than a month after my warranty expired). I’ve tried contacting Brother but have been told I would have to just have it repaired and pay for it. Yet, the closest repair shop is over 1 hour away with limited time open.

    Fine machine, but DO NOT get the case

    I used my mom's Brother LX2500 for several years and decided to get my own. The CS7000X has been a bit weird to get used to, but overall I think it's fine. Something I ran into immediately: you can't store any bobbins or small items in the front compartment because there's a huge gap and they fall out. Biggest issue I had is that I bought the bundle with the case and THE CASE IT COMES WITH DOES NOT FIT. The case was not only way too big to actually protect this machine, but it also does not close securely or lay flat on the ground (the plastic is warped beyond repair). I looked it up and the Q&A on Brother's own website says that this machine is not compatible with this case, so it's a waste of everyone's time & money to bundle two incompatible items. I'll be returning.

    Not well made

    Right out of the box, the bobbin would not wind correctly. It wound at the bottom, then only part way up- so it looked like a pyramid. It was very pronounced. The bobbin spindle was plastic and very flimsy. That was it. I figured if I couldn't even get the bobbin wound there was no point in going on. Very disappointed.

    Total Satisfaction

    New to sewing and started on an antique Singer. I purchased this machine out of frustration and have never looked back. This machine has so many great features that it has made sewing fun. I like the layout, the ease of operation, and the simple, easy to follow guides. It comes with a generous "get started" assortment of feet and other basic supplies. I have recommended this model to others who have purchased it as well. Buy one, you wont be sorry.

    Great machine!

    I’ve had this for a year and been very happy with it. I’ve used it with knits, for quilting and it’s never let me down. The feet that come with it have also been a lifesaver

    Beautiful machine that works like a charm, and comes with everything a beginner and experienced sewist needs! I love it so far and have already accomplished a few projects with this machine. It is very user friendly and I love using it so far! I'm a beginner at using sewing machines. For many years I would only hand-sew because I was apprehensive of sewing machines and did not feel confident in using one. However, this machine has completely changed my perspective and mindset! There are so many great YouTube tutorials and walkthroughs to help troubleshoot problems you may be having. I am a visual learner, so having a direct tutorial on the mechanisms really helped me with my sewing machine. Customer service with registering my machine (for warranty purposes) were so helpful and well equipped to support me when I had registration issues. The only qualm I have is that the machine is louder than I expected. Now being my first machine, I don't have any other machines to compare it to for noise level. Nonetheless, all my research led me to buying this one as my first. The weight might be heavier than what some people are looking for, but I don't mind it because it means less plastic parts and more durability. I am very happy with my purchase! I would recommend buying some more bobbins as you might need it for colorful projects. Love it so far, would recommend it to any beginner-experienced sewist!!

    Love the threading ease and auto bobbin take up.

    I like an awful lot more than that but I was surprised how many people say they have issues with both. The machine does the hard part of threading, you just pull the small loop it pokes through the rest of the way. The bobbin, you load it, remembering to put it through the tension 'arm' you don't put it in the cutter section. Throw a bit of scrap under your foot and it feeds the bobbin thread through. Other things I like. It has all the stitches most people need, a good range of feet that come with it, lots of clear instructions plus videos and written guides (e.g. a guide to the stitch symbols is online). Is it the best advanced sewist machine around, probably not. Is it great for lots of people, especially new sewists, yes.

    Constructive Criticism

    I'm happy with the features this machine offers but I have two suggestions for improvement. There's a little dip in front of the clear bobbin cover that gives the cover space to slide out, but if you are sewing over a seam that's on the underside (a seam that opens towards the back of the machine), it causes the seam allowance to flip direction, as it gets caught on the edge of the dip, and for quilting this is a real nuisance. Somehow this area needs to be made flat/flush. Also, the white cover around the thread take-up lever should have a hinge on the left side so that it can swing open. This would make the last part of threading the machine so much easier as the parts would be more visible. Currently I have to tilt the whole machine back for visibility to complete the last two steps of threading.

    I have tried and tried to adjust the tension, i have gone over and over the instructions. As far as i can tell, there is no adjustment on the bobbin, they keep referring me back to correctly threading the bobbin. I am not a newbie at this, my last bernina machine ive had for 25 years. Tomorrow is a new day .

    Solid machine needle threading tough

    This machine is exactly what I needed to pick up my sewing hobby again and offers very convenient options. I will say the needle threading is not easy and some threads are difficult to to use. The machine I wanted was out of stock everywhere so I went with this model. I would repurchase for the price

    A good machine with a few drawbacks

    All in all a nice machine. Lacks a few features. The case should actually attach and there should be built in storage for the accessories that actually holds them.

    Great machine!

    I was overdue for a new machine. My husband went online and found this one. I am in LOVE with it! It runs smooth, easy to use, and sooo many stitches. I still haven't learned everything it can do!

    Works great for this beginner sewist

    Works great and comes with lots of feet. I’m just starting my sewing journey and having something so easy to use is wonderful. I also love all the beginner videos that are linked. There are a bunch of short videos showing many functions and that is helpful for visual learners.
