I'm so sorry to learn that you're not happy with your rug! This rug is made with jute and cotton. Jute is a natural fiber made from jute grass. The fibers come from the plant's stalk, not its leaves. Jute rugs, like most natural fiber rugs, do shed little fibers that fall out under the rug, which look like dirt when you lift the rug to clean it. The “dirt/shedding" is a breakdown of the natural fiber. We recommend vacuuming the rug with the beater bar either raised to the highest setting or removed completely. This will reduce the friction and cause the fibers to not come out as much. I hope this helps!
