Q: Can use my 9 year old daughter

submitted by Ewa - 1 month ago
  • A: Great question! We typically recommend that children 12yrs or older use this paste, however as long as your child understands not to swallow the product they should have no issues using this toothpaste.

submitted by Mama - 1 year ago
  • A: Tom's of Maine Antiplaque & Whitening Toothpaste isn’t safe for babies/toddlers who can’t spit. It has a few ingredients that aren’t ideal if swallowed. We suggest using toddler-safe training toothpaste instead.

Change the formula and taste back!

They changed more than just the taste. The new “improved” taste is not better, tastes worse. And the texture is now watery when you brush. It no longer foams up nicely.

I’ve been using this toothpaste for YEARS, it was the house favorite. But now there’s a “new great taste” that is not so great. Like super artificial sweetener with like spearmint not peppermint. Also the texture is different, it’s really like sticky? And kinda grainy - it really coats your mouth. Please go back 😭

Horrible and Painful "New Great Taste"

We have been using this toothpaste for several years now, and the “New Great Taste” is horrible. It tastes very bad. We are also now experiencing pain when brushing with this toothpaste. Loved this toothpaste, the flavor, and that it was free of unnecessary ingredients. Unfortunately, will have to find a new brand now.

    "Bad new taste"

Taste bad. I enjoyed the old formula. The new flavor tastes off. It has a bad after taste. The company may be marketing it as “great new taste” as a way to conceal the fact that they may be using cheaper ingredients. Please go back to the old flavor Tom.

    New Stevia Flavor

I bought this product for years and it used to be 5-stars. They changed their formula and have added stevia (rebaudioside A) so it's cloyingly sweet. It tastes like Crest or Colgate now, instead of a more natural product. I am on the search for a new brand of toothpaste.

The flavor was “improved” and it is not good! I can’t quite explain but I think it is too sweet now with the added xylitol. My husband says it leaves his mouth feeling dry.

They obviously make some kind of change to this toothpaste. It used to be my favorite, only one I used. Terrible flavor now, leaves my mouth feeling gross afterwards now.

The new flavor is terrible and leaves a bad stevia aftertaste. Won't be buying again and wish I could get my money back. They should remove the false advertising that there are no sweeteners added, when their own website lists that the purpose of the ingredients xylitol and stevia is sweetening.
