Q: Is this safe for babies / toddlers to use (since they swallow their toothpaste / are too young to spit out)? The xylitol is similar to other baby toothpastes, but not sure about the other ingredients

    Gross New Taste

    We have used this toothpaste for years and always buy the three pack. I just opened up a new pack and brushed my teeth. I thought it had gone bad until I say the label said, “New great taste!” New? Yes. Great? Absolutely not. It tastes like spearmint instead of peppermint. There is also an unpleasant artificial sweetener flavor that lingers in your mouth after brushing. It looks like it’s time to find a new toothpaste brand.

    New artificially sweeten taste

    Why the new artificially sweeten taste?? I was Tom's loyal customer for over 10 years. I like it because it's not sweetened. What do they wish to accomplish by changing the taste, is it to attract bigger group of customers? Well, they lost me as a customer. Now, i have to go look for a new toothpaste that's not sweetened.

    "New Great Taste" is disgusting - Stevia

    "New Great Taste" is actually Rebaudioside A, a.k.a. stevia extract. I'm so upset that Colgate has reformulated this product and the Wicked Fresh Tom's of Maine toothpastes to include stevia. I had been a loyal customer for proably 20 years and now have to find a new toothpaste brand because this new reformulation is VILE. The disgusting aftertaste lingers for hours. I'm angry that I wasted money on this without realizing that it now has stevia in it.

    Stop "fixing" things that aren't broken

    The new formula is horrendous. It thins out so badly and makes a huge mess when brushing your teeth. The new flavor isn’t horrible, but it’s not great either. I definitely prefer the old flavor better as well as the old consistency. I unfortunately bought a three pack and will suffer through it, but after that, I will be searching for a new toothpaste.

    “New Great Taste” is HORRIBLE!! They made it sickeningly sweet, it is far more sweet than minty, and now it taste like spearmint not peppermint.     New improved flavor is NOT tolerable

    This is my second attempt at trying to buy The Original Tom’s fluoride free peppermint toothpaste. The new improved favor is terrible! Leaves a horrible chemical sweetener aftertaste. We’ve used Tom’s toothpaste for decades even before it was sold to a major corp - I will now look for a new brand of toothpaste. Good job at alienating tens of thousands of loyal users who appreciated the natural toothpaste without the chemicals.

    No longer good. Quality and taste went downhill for the worst. Will not buy anymore.
