simplehuman Medium Pet Food Storage Container for Cat Food, Bird Feed, and Dog Food Storage - Brushed Stainless Steel

I bought this because my beagle/pit bull mix kept getting the lid off of the old dog food container I had. This one is much nicer to look at but unfortunately my dog is still able to knock it over and spill the food on the floor to eat it. I'm currently looking for a way to reinforce the handle lock since it can be opened very easily.

Simplehuman products are fantastic. I have many trash cans that I have used and upgraded over the years. So when I was looking for a dog container, I decided this was probably the one I needed.

Medium size container that fits three bags of dog food. Comes with a measured scooper. Has a very tight seal that can keep food fresh and free from bugs. We love it.

Doesn’t live up to Simple Human quality. The latch is finicky. Like when you’re trying to close it, you have to push it to the side because it’s kind of manufactured with a slight small angle so it won’t clasp unless you push it in the guides. I liked the look of this plus the security of it for a dog who likes to break into the food bin. BUT! I sent it back! This container does not allow you to place a bag of dog food into it - you can only pour the food in…meaning you have to wash the container after the food runs out. My vet says to not put dog food directly into a plastic bin and to keep the food in the original bag with the top cut off. This container does not allow for that.

Love it so far. Only complaint is the opening handle. Not very smooth. But keeping my dog’s food safe is my goal.

I am 52 years old and have been a dog lover all of my life. I never knew you had to keep their kibble airtight to make it retain its nutrition value. I always kept their dog food in my pantry and I, of course, tried to keep it shut tight with the bag locking system that comes with the bag but, as you know, that doesn’t work really great. This new can solves the problem of keeping their food fresh longer plus it eliminates any dog food smell from my pantry. As well, it is a much cleaner look than a dog food bag laying in the floor. I don’t know why but it even seems as if my dogs like the food better! They race to eat their kibble when I fill their bowl now as if it’s a new, exciting food. I would like to say, too, that the cans are very large. Look at the specs to see how much each one holds. I have three small dogs who don’t eat much and the medium pet food can could, easily, hold two bags of their food. If you are on the fence about buying, this is your sign to make the leap. You won’t regret it.

I originally had the stainless steel one but changed to match the decor in the kitchen. Love it.

Beautiful color and nice size, I did one star cause the wheels don’t work at all.

I love this food container for its function and sleek style. It should accommodate up to 27lbs of food. Be advised this isn’t necessarily true. I have two dogs on two different foods. One comes in a 22 lb bag and the other in a 25lb bag. The one that is 25lbs does not fit in this container, so I had to size up to the large/up to 32lb container. It does however keep the food fresh and air tight.

It keep the kibble fresh and is very nice looking addition to kitchen.

Easily holds a 22 lb bag of food with room to spare. The top / latch opens easily and intuitively, and top closes tightly. Really pleased with this purchase.
