Less common side effects include; headache, dizziness, nausea, increased appetite, abdominal pain, cramps, bloating. Opill is a progestin only contraceptive and is the first to be available over the counter.

In my ten years of using birth control, i've never been so emotional in my life i can control my motions very well and i'm able to recognize when i'm being emotional but when I am on this pill i cannot control it i cannot handle my emotions i can't even call myself down because that's how emotional this pill makes me. If that wasn't bad enough my period went from normal colors to black not dark red pure black like tar my clotting is 10 time worst than it was i'm not even mentioning my cramps if you have awful cramps this pill is the reason i've never had cramps until I got on this pill Also I feel like I have to mention this pill is so so so so so time sensitive, if you do not take it at the same time, every day you will bleed even if you're only like ten minutes off it has DO NOT TAKE THIS BIRTH CONTROL!!!

I love that this is available without RX. Only reason I am giving it a 2 is because if you are a woman that reacts to birth control- then this may not be for you. I felt horrible on these pills. Extremely exhausted, cramping, body aches, migraines. The moment I stopped taking them, everything went away.

Got a lot of acne, the side effects are horrible. I would feel nauseous, moody and I my period would take forever. But rn is the third time I get my period for the month of august and they last 6 days.

I actually didn’t have extra bleedings. I missed one day of pill and I still felt the same. No side effects on food or mood, I felt just normal and great. Nothing hormonal, diet felt the same. I think I’ve been using for a month and and a half, worked out for me.

Product Review: Opill OTC Birth Control – 5-Month Update I’ve been using Opill (over-the-counter progestin-only birth control) for the past five months, and my experience has been mostly positive with a few changes worth noting as time has gone on. Months 1–3: The first three months were smooth. I didn’t notice any side effects or symptoms, and my menstrual cycle stayed completely regular. My period arrived on time, lasted its usual length (4 days), and ended when expected. Month 4: This month started off normally — my period came and went as usual. However, about a week after my period ended, I experienced two days of light spotting. It wasn’t painful or heavy, but it was unusual for me, as I hadn’t had mid-cycle spotting before starting Opill. Month 5: This month was more difficult. About 42 hours before my period started, I had severe cramps and bloating. This was surprising because I usually don’t get cramps during my period, let alone before it starts. My period did begin on time, but it lasted 7 days instead of my usual 4. A few days after it ended, I experienced another day of light spotting. Overall Thoughts: While Opill was symptom-free for the first few months, I’ve started to notice more irregularities in months 4 and 5 — mainly mid-cycle spotting, extended periods, and unexpected cramping. These may be part of my body adjusting or just longer-term side effects, but it’s something I’ll be monitoring going forward. It’s worth noting that everyone’s body reacts differently, and progestin-only pills like Opill can cause changes in bleeding patterns over time. I’d recommend this product for those looking for accessible, hormone-based birth control, but with the understanding that menstrual changes are possible, especially after the first few months

It’s easy to get since you don't need a prescription and it is effective if you take it at the same time every day. That said, I personally had spotting while on it, which is a common side effect with mini-pills, and that’s not something I’d want to deal with long term. Overall, a good alternative for many, but not the right fit for me.

Used for 2 months and I would like to say it’s better to get your own prescribed prescription. This mini pills makes you have random spotting and I spotted really bad (like a period )for 2 weeks .and right after just having me regular period too . If you’re single it’s ok . But if you’re active this is really irritating. Combination pills are better since it controls when you have your period . Vs not knowing when you get your period . Iam on sprintec combination pill and the spotting stopped immediately. And now I have controlled periods … not worth the random prolonged spotting .

I start month 3 of Opill on Sunday, August 17th! Side effects have come and gone, but I'm currently experiencing more frequent bleeding, but I know it's the adjustment phase and I'm giving it a lot more time before I decide to call it quits. If you read about Opill, it is known to cause regular bleeding, more frequent bleeding, less frequent bleeding, heavier bleeding, lighter bleeding, or no bleeding at all. I take Opill exactly at 8 am every morning and I'm never a minute early or a minute past 8 am. Opill has been the only birth control pill I've been able to tolerate. I'll definitely keep updating my review every month

Bought about 2 months ago , first month was great , but the next month , i skipped my period. Had to go to the dr and they said its because of the pill. I encourage everyone whos reading this - to not get this . I am now dealing with the difficulty to start my period
