The iron works very well. Heats up quick and holds temperature. The selector button has not been an issue with me, as others have noted. Like the tip as well for detail.

This is the 2nd Steamcraft I've bought in six months. Both have broken within weeks. The stream button gets stuck and that's it. Party's over. SO DISAPPOINTED. Shocking quality for the price. I had a project to be finished today but now I'm sunk. FIX THE STEAM BUTTON SINGER OR TAKE THIS OFF THE MARKET. PLEASE.

There are nice features on this iron, such as the extra long cord, the 30 minute auto-shut-off, the tapered point, the weight and size of the water tank. I like the easy temp selector. However, the most important feature, consistent output of steam did not work properly. That is crucial for the work that I do to prevent scorching fabrics and getting out wrinkles. I am also concerned about the number reviews that this iron leaks and the buttons break after using for not very long. I would like an iron like this with the reliability and durability of a very old basic Black and Decker steam iron that is my back up for when all the expensive fancy irons like this Singer fail.

I purchased this iron at the beginning of 2023. Last night when working on pressing and steaming some quilt pieces, the steam button broke, or at least that is what appears to have happened as it is in a down position and doesn't depress or come up. I see others have had this issue with the iron. It is a shame that after 13 months, the iron broke. I used it probably once a week - not every day and some months I did not use it at all, so it hasn't been used LOT in the 13 months I have owned it

Purchased on July 27, 2023, and less than 6 months later the steam button is stuck in the down position and will no longer work. Very disappointed because otherwise I loved this iron, but what is an iron without steam?? Noticed that several other reviews noted the same issue, so this must be a design flaw? :(

I purchased this product 3 months ago. At first I loved it, but then it started having a few issues, minor ones that I could live with. Today it started sputtering and smoke started rolling out of it. It was electrical smoke. A very distinct electrical burning smell. I flipped it over to shut it off and it burnt not one but three perfect iron burn holes all the way through the board cover and melted the pad underneath. After 45 minutes of being unplugged the plate was still way to hot to touch NEVER purchase this iron. It is a definite safety hazard. I'm just glad I was standing right next to it when it went crazy. It needs to be recalled!!

I bought this iron 9 months ago. The steam button now sticks in the down position, so I have no control over whether it's steaming or not. I looked at the warranty, and as it's a mechanical part, it's no longer covered. It's too bad because I really like the iron, but I expect an iron to last for more than 9 months.

I am a skilled sewer and have used 4 irons in my 54 year of sewing: a General Electric, a Rowenta, a Black and Decker, and a Singer Steamcraft Plus Steam Iron. The Steamcraft was the worst. I've only had it under 4 weeks, used it twice, and it leaks water all over the fabric and the ironing board. I do not recommend this iron.

I love the classic old fashioned look of this iron and it works great but I do have one suggestions and that is to move or change the power button. Maybe this isn't something that affects a lot of women but I have kind of big hands and when I grasp the iron by the handle I change the setting or shut it off simply by using it. It's frustrating for me but I love this iron too much to get rid of it. It would be great if the "mode button" were in a different location. I make a lot of quilts so I use this iron all the time.

Never knew singer made iron until i saw one at a friend's house - had to immediately buy one. Above and beyond what i was using before(night&day).. the only issue is where the power bitton is - its located right at the top of the grip on the handle- every now and then as I'm ironing my grip would accidentally press the button and shut the iron off

I reviewed the wrong model...it is this model. The steam button quit working after only 9 months of use...a couple times a week. There is no steam at all even tho the steam dial on the dial is selected. The iron is to useable.

It’s beautiful I love it, it’s smooth ironing. All Singer products are made very well and with care My Mom taught me how to sew on a Singer sewing machine when I was a kid I love sewing I also have a Singer sewing machine. This Company has been around since the 1800’s that alone says it all! I would give them 10 Stars instead of 5! I absolutely love this iron!
