LEGO Technic Mercedes-Benz G 500 PROFESSIONAL Line Car Building Set 42177

I have done a bunch of Technic builds and this one is definitely one of my favourites. The instructions were quite good overall with few errors - nothing that affected my experience with the build. I had all the pieces - thank you Lego for great quality control on this one. The organization of the packages (20 in all) made the build very enjoyable. Thank you Lego for a great experience and ride! I had a lot of fun with this one.

Having build quite a lot of Technics sets, I found this build very detailed and super easy to build. If I am to compare it with the Land Rover Defender technics set, it is certain upgrade! What I liked: - Build instructions are super clean and clear - Ability to test the built (gearbox - suspension etc.) as you build - minimizing the risk of any mistake - Pieces are organized in 20 bags - so you don't have too many pieces on the table (some may prefer fewer bags) - The highlight for me was the build approach on the panels of the car. Usually, this is not a very engaging process in big sets. Following the moving parts build up, this part is usually too easy / boring. That isn't the case in this model. It is not hard, but it has some pretty interesting builds in panels too. What I disliked: - That I have finished it - Would like it to be motorized - or a motorized version available. Would expand the play time significantly - The gear selectors are very hard to reach for adults. - Windscreen could be used I overall enjoyed building the set and it is definitely an item to display! Color has been a controversy, but I think it suits it well, not only to stand out but it also recreates original g-wagons' color.

This set is one of, if not the best, designed and developed sets I've ever acquired and built. The attention to detail and the care put into its creation make me think Lego has the best automotive design engineers. The suspension is so realistic that it reminds me of my repair and maintenance work during my time as an auto mechanic. Congratulations to the Lego design team.

This is unmistakably a G-Wagon, the Manufaktur copper orange color makes the set standout even more with its iconic design. The build takes away the transmission complexities of other similarly sized sets which for me is just redundant, this one is single speed but retains the hi and low gear settings and as with the real thing it also has 3 functioning differentials which makes the G-wagon one of the most capable vehicles. You can lock the center and rear diffs which if put on drive or reverse gears engages the model I-6 engine which for a set of this size you’re gonna want that thing functioning. This is my 3rd Mercedes-Benz branded Technic set the first 2 being the Unimog U400 set 8110 and second the Arocs 3245 set 42043. Design-wise it’s very squared with very few angles and catches the real thing’s iconic design my only complaint however are the tires, it’s big but looks so much better with the Unimog’s tires and I was able to adapt the spare tire by doing a few design adjustment for the spare tire guard. I’m overall very impressed with the set I give it a 100/100 score.

This is a very good lego set. In my collection, this specific model is definitely the best of my other models. I have built the ford raptor which is very similar to this model but this one is a lot nicer and better looking

Fun to build challenging at some points will buy more like this in the future

Great build, only thing missing was the cool AMG side exhaust. I added it with left overs from my other builds. Lego what’s this incentive campaign question?!

This was a challenging and rewarding build. It is large in size, and requires attention to detail, and the ability to follow directions. I enjoyed the build, and the finished product looks great in my collection!

Loved this build! As someone without much means to buy large Lego sets, I'm always looking for something that can give me plenty of build time per dollar. The "G-Wagon" was exactly the right amount of entertainment for the cost spent. I used all of my minimal tax refund to purchase this set and spent several weekends building it. Worth every penny! And it looks great.

I’m not a great fan of technic builds. But. This one. Took me two months to build. I Normally take two to three days. I hated it. And still now it’s built. The steering doesn’t work. But im not rebuilding the thing just so I can steer it.

This is my second technic set, very enjoyable build from start to finish. Noticed a few mistakes within the instruction books, and I went to use the Lego app and noticed this set was not available to build in 3D which is a shame. Ever since the introduction of paper bags I have experienced more missing parts than usual, I have requested 3 parts from this set which was missing. Other than that a really nice build Could have polished the finished result a bit better in my opinion. Will look forward to the next 4x4 technic build Hopefully Lego introduces the 6x6 model to the Technic line up

My first big Lego set. I love it l. It is detailed and realistic but I would like to have more cars with such entertainment

well up to advance build up to the work of a good mine top but live the way it looks like then competed

Fun set, but a lot missing bits. We are fed up. I had to put second request to send us missing blocks. First took over 3 weeks. How long we have to wait ? Why bits are missing ? It destroys whole fun. Im furoius
