Q: Why does it say bottom of stairs?can this not be used for top of stairs?

A: Thank you for your question. Yes this gate can be used at the top of the stairs as long as you have the door swing towards the landing not the stairs.

Q: what is the length of each of the wings outside of the main gate? Need to make sure it is long enough to extend out from a wall at a corner step opening.

Q: I need a gate for 51 1/2 inches. I didn't get the other gate for up to 52 inches because it requires using all the extensions. I thought it might compromise the secure fit by using the add on. Will this gate fit 51 1/2 inches with out any extensions?

A: Thank you for your question. The Deluxe Decor gate is 72" wide and can be angled at the picot points to fit a 51 1/2" opening with no extensions needed.
