Unfortunately, the reviews are true. The stem is not secure and wiggles a lot. I ended up using Loctite at the bottom and it did the trick. Other than that issue, It’s looks so nice and glad I could keep it.

I think most critical reviews are based on handling- though the design can be improved. I think if this was a piece you could assemble the manufacturer and distributor would save massively on shipping and returns. But as this item arrived safely- I adore it. It elevates my tiny bathroom. I put my phone on it- even use it to watch my phone from the bathtub. For what it's worth mine was also just placed in a very big box with a piece of paper. But it arrived safe because the chain of handling is short in my case and it didn't go wrong at any step. If your chain of handling is longer it has more opportunity to have a bad outcome.

I have ordered two of these and each one has arrived broken.

Literally came broken at base

I love the item but it came in a box not wrapped at all. It wasn't protected and the top was bent!

In true Magnolia fashion, this item looks lovely and is extremely low quality. The top piece is barely soldered on… it fell off almost immediately after my purchase. I was able to repair it by adding a screw into the top to reattach it to the base. Shame on Magnolia for producing such poor quality products.

Quality material but structurally it’s a big fail. Arrived damaged, just like everyone else has said. The base screws on and when it gets loose and wobbly you can’t even screw it back in. Product is extremely defective. Could be a great product if it was constructed right. They shipped it in a huge box with nothing else in it, and I’m assuming it got thrown around to the point it arrived broken. Do better Target!

Awful. Bought 2 in a row. Both were wobbly and had to return.

Have checked out a lot of TP stands, this one is ideal pretty and practical. Highly recommend

Tray fell out after a few months.

Very pretty in person. But tag had a sticker over the original $29.99 price but scanned @ 34.99. That alone turned me off

The two stars are because it’s pretty. Functionality is not there. I moved it out of the way while cleaning the bathroom floor and the top just snapped off… It should definitely be held on by a screw. The stand that is connected to the base also wiggles loose and now is on an angle. The bottom of the base is covered, so it cannot be tightened. Will be returning and not purchasing again.

The design, the "color" of brass (neither too shiny nor too antique) and the style of this stand are amazing. However, the execution of its construction is horrible! I was so excited when I saw this on line that I purchased using the "pick up in store" option since my store only listed 2 remaining in stock. When I went to get it the tray was missing. I showed the associate the photo of what it was supposed to look like. I though it was odd that they would bring up a defective item. I went back to see if the other stand was still on the selling floor. It was. And that one also had the top tray snapped off the top. Although I love the holder even more after seeing it and feeling its substantial weight, I didn't bring it home. I was tempted to Gorilla Glue the tray back onto the stand. But I shouldn't have to monkey with a brand new purchase to make it fully functional. So, unless you are prepared to possibly make it into a DIY project, I wouldn't suggest purchasing this item.

Could be a lot nicer if it was packed with care but since it’s not it’s very wobbly. Do better with your packaging Target.
