From what I've seen, my 14 month old loves speaking into the Ms. Rachel microphone! He mimics words which to me sounds like giberish, but he has fun. He doesn't care too much for the pre recorded music and makes up his own. He usually presses it close to his mouth to speak into. There are two buttons to cycle between freestyle microphone or music to sing along to. In order to start or stop the music you have to push the buttons once or twice. There is no volume control or on/off switch. I purchased a second microphone because the first one quit working due to my child throwing it around the house, it is plastic and not unbreakable. I don't expect too much for the price.

Stopped working after a few days. You also have to hold the button down to get the mic to amplify your voice. My 1 year old can’t grasp that concept. You also have to practically put it in your mouth to get it to work with your voice.

I'm obsessed with this MS Rachel microphone! My little one loves dance along to the 3 or 4 fun songs it plays. The design is adorable and easy for tiny hands to hold. It's perfect for encouraging creativity and self-expression. The sound quality is great, and the songs are catchy and upbeat, any Ms Rachel fan will know them. Highly recommend this toy for any Ms. Rachel fan.

My Little Miss Rachel fan is obsessed with this microphone. He uses it all the time and wants to take it with him wherever he goes. It has been very durable so far despite being dropped many times. I've had it since Christmas and haven't had to change the batteries yet. A must for Miss Rachel fans.

Got this for my 1 year old daughter for Christmas and she loved it. It is very portable and my kids were singing with it all over the house. The issue is it’s now Feb 12 and it no longer works. We tried changing batteries, even tested the batteries but it only lights up and the music and mic no longer work. Very disappointed in the quality.

Daughter loves all the songs but only thing which gives it a 2 star is that there is no volume button and it is REALLY loud. We had to put tape over the speakers to make it not so loud. I also wish there was an on and off button

WHY is there no on/off button or volume control??? We love Ms. Rachel, but even she needs to be turned off now and again!! The microphone makes a god awful sound when you press the top button and the microphone doesn't really work unless your mouth is pressed right up against the toy which is pretty gross. Also, the volume. Or should I say, THE VOLUME!!! It is so incredibly loud and high pitched. Not sure I would buy this again had I tried it first.
