not for gaming laptops
My review is mixed as it would work for a small laptop, but for a larger one definitely not. it shoots out a tiny bit of cold air and cant hold alot of weight, it also runs off your laptop which takes more power which can defeat the purpose

Bought it , worked great for 3 months... then fan works when it decides too. Most likely cheap soldering that degrades over time .

Poor quality and poor design
Worked fine, then the fan started making a noise. It's virtually impossible to take the mat apart to fix/clean. Cheap junk. Works out good for Targus because people won't even bother trying and they'll just buy another one.

This is for my soon to be 18 year old who plans to go off to college next year after graduation her laptop keeps overheating and crashing. I hope with this cooling pad and testing it out for software issues will solve this problem. It looks like an easy to use device like that it powers by just usb no wall plug or battery more convenient.

Broke too quickly
Broke too quickly. Purchased in mid March. By mid April 1 of the fans completely stopped working. So half was cool half was hot. I did do an in store replacement. Hopefully just a fluke but am prepared for this one to do the same. Not cool that it stopped working that quickly. And not used daily either.

Works, not for too long though
Worked well, kept my laptop between 10-15 degrees Celsius cooler. However less than a year into owning it, it's not working as well. The USB cable is poor quality. For the price and it's simplicity this is underwhelming

Works okay. The fan is quiet but I feel like most of the benefit comes from the elevation; the laptop still gets warm, possibly because of where the fans are placed. An improvement for sure, but I don't know if it's worth fifty bucks.

Works Better Upside Down
Good product, but it works better upside down. It's designed so that the fans blow air up at the laptop but my laptop (which is hella hot!) has fans blowing hot air down, so these fans are just blowing air at each other and my legs were still overheating. Turning it over means the chill mat fans are blowing on my legs which cooks them. So for now that's how I'm using it as it's the only way my legs don't overheat with my Lenovo Thinkpad/Hot Plate.

Came Damaged
It would have been a good chill mat if it hadn't been damaged in shipment. There was a big hole and rip in the box and a plastic piece was snapped off the upper right hand side of the chill pad. The mat must be somewhat tough because looking at the box it should have had much more damage on it. It was surprising how little packing was in the box. Otherwise, I believe it is a good strong chill mat.
