DON'T DO IT!
not spill OR leakproof. I emailed back and forth with owala because I have heard excellent things about their warranty, I was gaslit and told "to buy another cup that suits my family's needs"???? horrible customer service. I asked only for a replacement lid, not an entire new unit, not even a new straw... JUST THE LID. I cannot say enough negative things about my experience with Owala customer service. Save the headache and the extra $10 and get a Zak! tumbler. Much better quality and HALF THE PRICE!!!!

Leaking cup
As an Owala lover, I’m so disappointed in this one. I was excited to get an Owala for my son, because he loves drinking from my big Owala water bottle and I know this cup is different, but I thought it would be fun. Unfortunately, this one leaks no matter what! Not sure if I got one with a bad seal, but it’s a let down that it wasn’t the leak proof cup we were looking for.

Inside flaps of the straw detach on their own
My toddler has used this cup for about 6 months when I noticed one of the flaps inside the straw was missing. I contacted Owala for their warranty. They denied the warranty stating it only detaches when it’s chewed or unintentional misuse. I use their branded bottle brush to clean the cup and there is zero bite marks on the straw to support their denial reason. Per Braxton (Supervisor for Owala) “From our product testing, we found that this only occurred from chewing or manipulation of the straw.”

Unsafe product and customer service is subpar
Our toddler has been using this tumbler for less than 6 months. We recently noticed the inside of the straw had broken into pieces with some pieces already missing. When Owala customer service was notified their response was that the manipulation of the product was not covered under warranty and that a third party ensured safety measures. They also advise that this safety issue is not covered under warranty and that I have no way of just replacing the mouthpiece. They advise I purchase another tumbler out of pocket! I was already hesitant to recommend this tumbler given the straw isn’t long enough to allow access to most of the liquid in the tumbler (as noted as a concern by many already), but I now have to strongly dissuade others from even purchasing it. Given the price point you would assume the quality of the product and customer service would be on par but it is far from that.

Cute cup, horrible quality control
The cup itself is cute however the cup from my original order as well as the replacement cup both had big dents in them. Initially I assumed that the box had been dropped in shipping since it was packed in a small box with my copy of Brimstone with no packing material. When the replacement cup arrived with a dent despite being wrapped up and then seeing some of the reviews I figured there must be some quality control issue. I’m not sure how it wasn’t noticed by the employee packing my order. I’m sad that the cup is no longer available to get a replacement for my replacement. 😭 Target approved the return for the second cup but the app is glitching and not providing a return shipping label despite the fact that it needs to be shipped back for a refund.

Will eventually have mold! This cup is not designed to be completely taken apart and put back together which encourages the mold build up. Can be great for toddlers if you are willing to keep replacing it.

Prone to mold
I noticed these bottles get moldy on the lid a lot… I wash them constantly and yet still get moldy. We have other kids water bottles (hydro flask) and this doesn’t happen to them.

Hard to vlean under straw
Mold under the top Straw part do you have to make sure it’s cleaned but it is very hard to get it apart. Straw doesn’t go all the way to the bottom so they think the drink is gone and it’s not

Cute but lacks in function
It’s cute but functionally I don’t love it for the fact the straw doesn’t touch the bottom and if my toddler is drinking is upright she thinks she doesn’t have anything left in the cup. We waste a lot of milk with this.
