DO NOT BUY
DO NOT buy one of these. I purchased one in February and the motherboard died at the beginning of October. Target offers no support for the failure of these products. Do yourself and your wallet a favor and buy something more reliable -- getting one of these fixed less than a year after you purchase it will end up costing you more anyway.

Acer Nitro 17 dead after 6 months
Just like the others, this laptop refuses to charge or turn on almost 6 months to the day after receiving it. Stay away from Acer laptops at all costs, I've now lost $800 because they only offer 90 day warranty and won't stand by their products. After discovering that no help would be offered, I decided to troubleshoot myself. Tried a new charger, tried charging with and without battery, tried each stick of memory individually, no luck. Seems like everyone with this laptop has the same issue, so my guess is bad mobo/charging IC. It's a shame because up until it died it was a perfectly good gaming laptop. Can't believe Acer won't cover their own products.

Dead after 6 months, no warranty
Wow, really terrible. Like lots of people the laptop is totally dead and then the surpise: It's not supported by Acer, though they claim to be the seller. Don't be fooled by the AcerTeam comment that there is a 1 year warranty. Supposedly it is 90 days, but calling the random number Acer dumps you off on answers "No agents are available. Goodbye." You would be 10x better off just buying an auction junker. Acer is willing to repair it for more than you paid originally, in theory. Additional fun fact: your credit card extended warranty doesn't apply either.

Dead no warranty
Dead withing 4 months, $900 to fix. Reached out to ACER they gave me a number for a limited warranty, good luck getting them to call you back, and ACER believes it's only a 90 day but cannot confirm as I left many messages and emailed Gier but no response. Never had such bad experience with recertified items

Missinformation - Bad Deal
The computer just started to popping some screen issues and I called the support at acer, and the computer had the warranty expired on 10/2024. This they don’t say to you, and you expect to have a computer that has a sticker saying that was refurbished, that at least last more than 2 months. I received it on 03/21/2025. Companies like that (Acer) and Target that add it as a “good price” don’t tell you the true about the product.
