Q: is the roku stick compatible with an older samsung tv ? i see that you're supposed to connect the roku cord to hdmi and to another source but im not sure the tv has the other one.

  • A: Hello C, You do not need a Roku device for a Roku TV as it's the same operating system in both with marginal performance enhancements. This model does not come with the Roku Voice Remote Pro (2nd Gen) which has the back lit buttons but you can always purchase that remote separately and use it on any Roku TV. There are still benefits to having a Roku device such as; portability, turning non smart TVs into Roku Smart TVs or even other smart TVs into Roku TVs.

    I have been streaming for about 10 years. I always have had Roku but tried a fire stick. I feel Roku is a much better device. Much more user friendly for my needs.

    Volume buttons doesn't work very well.

    The video works fine. The only problem I have is the Roku remote volume buttons don't work very well with the brand of TV I have. Ofen the volume continues to increase until it reaches its maximum or turns the volume down until it hits 0. It's hard to stop on a specific number. I didn't have this trouble with the Roku app or the TV remote.
