It is designed as a "plug-and-play" device, meaning it doesn't require special drivers to work with either operating system. However, the way you connect it depends on which ports your specific laptop has. Here is the breakdown for both: 1. Connection via USB-C (Best Option) If your Dell or Mac has a "Full-Featured" USB-C port (one that supports DisplayPort Alt Mode or is a Thunderbolt 3/4 port), you can connect the monitor using a single USB-C to USB-C cable. Benefits: This one cable will send the video signal, audio, and power to the monitor simultaneously. Note: If your laptop’s battery is low or the port doesn't provide enough power, the monitor might flicker or stay black. In this case, you’ll need to plug the monitor into a wall outlet using the included USB-A to USB-C power cable. 2.     Not particularly helpful. Note that the image implies it is wireless/battery operated. Nope. You have to plug this into both a power outlet and the machine you want the extra screen for.     The monitor's sound isn't great but it's okay for a 2nd monitor. It has some buttons on side for volume and switching between USB-C and HDMI, but you can't adjust brightness or contrast on it; you have to do that on your laptop. I really like that its cover can be used as a stand, letting you angle the monitor nicely next to your laptop screen.

    This item is really good because you can fold it flat when you're not using it or when you're traveling. It's simple to store away. Setting it up was quite straightforward. Though, I had to buy an extra cord to connect it to my MacBook since it's an older model, but that didn't surprise me. It's partecularly handy for people who work both at home and in an office.
