A: Thank you for your question. The appliance is BPA free in all food zone areas.
Great for fruit smoothies. My teen son loves making his own fruit/protein powder smoothies with this. To get the most "power", when using this, I hold the cup down for 5 seconds on the blender dock, then let go (pressing down is what makes the motor go on). I repeat this rather than running the motor continuously. You can also flip the cup upside down, swirl the liquid, and then put back on the blender dock. The motor isn't very powerful, but it works well with blending milk, yogurt, fruit, and powder. (We have not tried it with ice). It's super easy to use and to clean.

Lower price. I bought it on sale. The part of the motor looks nice and strong. I use it every day to make smoothies and our morning shakes. The only con I see is the material used on all plastics, including the part with the blades, I am afraid they can easily brake... or probably not.

2nd Use - Would not shut off! Had to unplug!
3rd Hamilton Beach product fail! 1. Personal blender in black with place to wind up cord, that one started leaking when the blade -seal UNSIDE JAR - broke through. Had it over a year. 2. #2 was a similar one in red - bought at Target last week. It leaked brand new. 3. Switched to this one with separate blades and two jars. Like it better…. But second time using - four days old today - it will not shut off now unless I reach and unplug it! So frustrating. Hamilton Beach customer support is very good - but I am not a product tester for them. I want a blender that works reliably!

Very weak motor, would not recommend!
Do not waste your time or money getting this blender. The motor is extremely weak so you are not getting anything blended unless you have quite a bit of liquid to help things along. A design flaw is you have to hold the cup down for it to blend anything, which means you have to actively babysit anything you're making. Even though its cheap, its not worth the money!
