A: My guess is plastic (Hamilton should answer this). Mine which appears identical (bought used) is thick glass which I think is a good choice. The weight probably helps with it not sliding around.

A: Mine was a used purchase with a glass jar. The best blender I have ever had including a highly computerized Oster (which was great but way too loud) and a vitamix which sounds like a lawn mower engine

This blender broke after less than six months of owning it. Was used once a week for non-frozen fruit smoothies. The blender started smelling like burnt plastic/rubber whenever we used it and eventually stopped working. Do not recommend buying.

not sure how this blender has such good reviews. This blender takes a very long time to blend items such as spinach/leafy greens or ice. eventually it did blend but the power is sub par and takes a very long time. lesson learned to invest appropriately in a blender. if you are using basic, easy to blend items then I am sure it is fine, but the versatility is not there.

Bought this for the sole purpose of blending fruit and ice to make smoothies. Yesterday I put in a few ice cubes, a banana and some milk and after 10 minutes of struggling, it still wasn't blended completely. I gave up. It struggles with ice! Do yourself a favor and invest in a Ninja instead. I returned this.

It works great so far after 2 uses. No problem. The jar is light weight . There is no alignment . Just set it down and push the button. I can't say much about reliability or durability but so far I am very happy with it, not to mention it was shipped within a few days. I tried to order a blender from Amazon. It took like 10 days and I got a message saying it would be further delay by 10 days so I cancelled their order and got it from Target.
