Oster® products sold in California have California Proposition 65 Warning but please note that CA prop 65 is just required to be placed once there is a harmful chemical that is present on the product, no matter how small the amount is. Our products have lead content in their cord the reason why the warning is present. The plastic coating on electrical wires and cables on many consumer products – such as the product you have purchased – may contain lead. Lead functions as a stabilizer that acts as an electrical insulator and helps prevent the plastic from becoming brittle or cracking. Therefore, many manufacturers of electrical products are placing Prop 65 warning labels for electrical cords on products where the electrical cord may be handled on a more frequent basis. However, please note that our products have gone through several lab testing to ensure that our products are far below the U.S. FDA and California Regulation Prop 65 requirements for extractable lead to ensure they are safe for consumers. No other state requires this labeling; it is a California-specific requirement. This is a bad blender. My first one started smoking, so they sent a replacement. It just doesn't blend well. You need to add an absurd quantity of liquid to get it to blend well, but even the smoothie function never fully blends it so you need to run another cycle. Getting the container into the base feels janky and the blender leaks a dark liquid after a dishwasher run unless you disassemble for every clean. Get a different one, trust me.

Not durable, weak motor, horrible quality turns off mid use. I bought this twice and both identical experiences. The rubber band that cushions the blade 'bed' got off mid use and went in the food, it got shredded inside it. Now I have tiny pieces of rubber band mixed inside my food. I couldn't recommend it any less.

The blender is awful. It won’t properly blend and it takes twice as long to use. Spend your money on a different one.

If your blender does not blend properly, it might be because the unit is not getting enough power from the wall outlet where it is currently plugged in or the wall outlet itself is a non working outlet. To remedy this issue, check if there is no physical damage on its cord and if there's none, try unplugging the blender. Let the unit rest for 3-5 minutes. Afterwards, plug it into a different wall outlet. Do not use it with any extension cords, power strips and power converters or inverters as it may affect the blender's performance. Also, make sure that all parts and accessories are properly inserted. Otherwise, it might cause the product not to work properly. You may also try the essential blending tips below. Tip 1: How To Make A Smoothie For smoothies load your blender from liquids to solids. Star with your liquid of yogurt - be sure you have enough to cover the blades. I read the reviews just like I do for Most products I buy many people expressed that this blender starts to smoke etc.. I just kind of blew it off thinking maybe people just got a bad experience this blender literally started smoking when I was blending salsa all my vegetables were soft plenty of juice as well I would not recommend the blender to anybody. It literally smoked the first time I used it.

I really wanted to give this blender a chance but it's continuing to smell like something is burning & not only that! it doesn't blend everything it blends only what's at the very bottom even if I add more water to make it less chunky it doesn't blend. pls do not buy !! I wish I could return this item but I don't know if I threw out the box I can't find it :(

Using it on low, in either setting doesn't blend the food (either hot or cold) well and after a couple seconds, the base starts smelling like burning rubber/plastic.

It's really only good to make large amounts of stuff. Not great for chutneys or salsas. A lot of things will be stuck on the bottom, and never blend

Great Blender for Salsa and Smoothies

I think people have confused this particular blender with another. This blender doesn't come with a "To-Go" cup. I usually wait to review things to see how long they last, but I really like this blender. I've used it almost daily since I purchased it a few weeks ago. The motor is 800w so it chops things up pretty well. If you hit the smoothie option, it will break up the ice first. It does it in little chunks before it starts to blend the entire drink. It's pretty awesome. I had a Ninja before this that I got rid of because it didn't blend well. I use this blender to make strawberry-banana smoothies for vitamin C and potassium, and also for Pico salsa. For fresh salsa, you just throw in some tomato chunks, some diced onions, a bit of garlic and some fresh spinach and hit the salsa option. Soooo good! We have it every Taco Tuesday. It's also the easiest blender I've ever had as far as cleaning goes. Everything but the base can go in the dishwasher. The pitcher is glass and not plastic, which I love.

This blender is horrible, it doesn't work. I was excited to make smoothies and of course it doesn't work. As soon as any amount of fruit or ice was added the blades won't spin and the smoothie setting is horrible, sounds like the thing will explode. What's worse is you expect these to work and throw out all the packaging so now I can't even return it. What a waste of money, should have bought a cheaper brand, would have worked better,
