Got this in the mail today. Attempted to use it and the whole thing started smoking.

Blends perfectly
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I made fruit smoothie with this blender and it turned out perfect. The texture of the smoothing is exactly how you would want a smoothie to be. It is made of glass and the base is very sturdy. It has several options and speed settings. I cannot wait to use it to make more things! I make my own baby food and this will no doubt be perfect for that.

The blender started smoking and stopped working for good the same day I purchased it. Oster used to be the go to for blenders and other kitchen appliances, now the quality is bad. This was the 3rd time I've purchased an Oster blender in the recent year's and they all failed.

The Best Blender Period
I recently am more conscious of what goes of what goes to my body and my families bodies one of the worst things being Microplastics with almost everything being made out of plastic which is the #1 culprit of Cancer and many other diseases, and have changed everything in the kitchen to either Stainless, Steel, Copper, Titanium, Wood and Glass, and Oster is the only Blender maker that stills makes their Blender of Glass and Stainless Steel, at least in the parts that matter when it comes ti blend your food that you consume, not only that but this I was surprised that this Oster Vortex beat my Expensive Ninja IQ when it comes to blend any ingredient and ice, really superb 👌, while being way more affordable, trully the best Blender period.

It is very heavy, but I do appreciate that it blends my smoothies so well it has a lot of features. It does not have a crazy amount of noise and the controls are very straightforward. Very powerful blender

The glass material is so easy to clean and so much better than using plastic, I appreciate this so much. The blending is perfect, it's very powerful and leaves all the food perfectly blended. The noise is not at all very high, so can use it when the baby sleeps as well.

So much better than plastic that can wear out and it’s not safe to make food in. The blender works great and the motor cuts up ice and frozen fruit like it’s nothing. It has tons of power and can do just about anything. It has 3 speeds plus 4 auto programs. My family will be using this a lot.

Blends everything thoroughly
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This blender mixes all my ingredients by using a vortex design. It pulls ingredients toward the blade and mixes everything thoroughly. My smoothies turn out rich, creamy and smooth. My ice gets fully crushed with no jamming. It makes amazing cocktails and milkshakes with several presets. No more guessing, add the ingredients and flip the knob to make what I want. It's never been so easy and fool-proof. It's durable and sturdy sitting on my countertop. The jar holds up to 76 ounces and is completely shatterproof. What I like best of all, it's so lightweight and easy to clean.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's incredible powerful-it pulverizes ice and frozen berries into a smooth puree in seconds, leaving absolutely no lumps in your smoothie! The glass is thick, sturdy, and heavy! Unlike plastic, it doesn't get scratched by nuts, doesn't turn cloudy over time, and doesn't absorb food odors! The auto smoothie mode is fantastic: just press the button, and it handles everything- spinning, adjusting speeds, and stopping automatically! The blades rotate in different directions, so food doesn't get stuck on the sides!

I use extremely frozen fruit for my smoothies, and this chopped everything into drinkable perfection with ease. I love all the settings options (speed / level, type of purée or mixing) and how chic and streamlined this is in my kitchen. It’s also more compact than my old one and makes for easy storage.
