No replacement bades?!
I have several of these and as others have mentioned I am very disappointed they do not make replacement blades. it is beyond wasteful given how quickly the cutting blade dulls. they are intending on you buying an entire new product rather than a simple blade, it is not acceptable. I will not be purchasing more of these dispensers but will buy a larger commercial unit from a more environmentally conscious company that makes replacement blades.

Great tape dispenser! It’s not too big but it’s heavy enough to work one-handed. The problem is, the blades get out of alignment or worn out over time, and you can’t replace them. I’d like to fix something this minor instead of throwing the whole dispenser into a landfill and buying another one so it’s disappointing 3M doesn’t support that.

I’ve used these for years and see them all over the place in schools as the classic tape dispenser. I was SHOCKED to find out there are no replacement blades. I know they are cheap but this is so wasteful! Scotch should be embarrassed at how environmentally unfriendly these products are. In fact, I’d be willing to pay as much for a blade as I did the product knowing I was not wasting an entire dispenser every time I need a new blade. Won’t be purchasing any more of these. I’ll encourage my school district to do the same.

Replacement blade.
So disappointed that they do not have a replacement blade available. For a very busy medical office who uses these quite frequently the blade gets dull and all I need is a new sharp blade but can't get one. You have to buy a whole new dispenser which is a huge waste when it's not old. If I have to buy a new dispenser I will definately make sure replacement blades are available first.

Good Dispenser - No Replacement Blade
This is a wonderful dispenser, as are all Scotch's tape dispensers. However, they do not make a replacement blade insert for these models. So if this is something you'll use a lot as a teacher or librarian, don't bother! If it is for home use go ahead and grab one.

Great item
I have worked for the state 24 yrs. this is the only tape dispenser I have ever used in that time. Fancy new gadgets have come along, but without hesitation I will use no other tape dispenser. It never wobbles, moves when I need a snip of tape and has nvr broken in all these yrs. I use it approx 4-5x a day.

I recently purchased two of these dispensers, one for the office and one for home. They look great and were reasonably priced. I was so anxious to put them into service, I even broke open hand held dispensers to get the tape rolls for my new desktop models. Big Mistake. First of all they do not weigh enough to resist the effort required to cut the tape. Secondly the cutting blade is either recessed too far or just is not sharp enough to get the job done! Why has Scotch made these changes in what used to be a wonderful product? Are they afraid we will cut ourselves, or drop it and bruise a toe? Did their lawyers make them do it?

Great Classic MADE IN USA from recycled plastic
Made in the USA caught my eye, made with recycled plastic sealed the deal. I know it is just a tape dispenser but it works well and nice to see a company at least trying to do the right thing.

Easy Use Dispenser

I love using my dispenser, I can use as much tape as I need and do it all by using only one hand, which frees the other hand to help hold or wrap or whatever project you are doing. On the bottom of this dispenser is the code C-38. It has never failed me, even the round plastic tape holder itself is perfect. This product is made by 3M of course. I do not anticipate ever having to replace this "indispensable" product and appreciate I the fact that I own Scotch products that are reliable and don't need replacing! A satisfied customer of 3M and Scotch.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I know this is a desk top model. However my family has been using on of these for years to wrap presents with Scotch's Magic Tape. No need for some uncomfortable wrist tape system. The desktop model always stays in place even when it is not on a desktop. It is what makes me smile while I wrap during the holidays. I get everything together and then remember that I can grab the desktop dispenser and grab tape whenever I need it using only one hand. Thank you Scotch brand for making things easier for many many years.
