This is the Translucent Loose Talc-Free Setting Powder Ultra-Blur in the shade Honey and it does not play when it comes to blurring. It totally smooths over my pores and gives my face that soft, filtered look without looking dry or flat. I love pressing it in to set my primer before foundation for that extra grip and blurred base, and then I go back in at the end to lock everything in. It melts right into my face, there is no flashback, no chalkiness, just smooth, warm-toned perfection. Definitely a staple in my kit.

Can’t decide if the translucent or the rose is my favorite. I love that this is talc free and the finish feels like velvet on my skin. I love how lightweight this is and that it truly sets make up for longevity.

No more moist and shiny nose when I use this and great for touch ups as well. My 17 yr old daughter likes it too that she had me buy one for her. I literally use this everyday to work and whoever I go, I don’t leave or travel without this powder that I bought myself the small size. Even my sister loves it too. If you are considering buying this product, please read this review first. I’ve been a longtime lover of Laura Mercier setting powder. I used the regular LM translucent setting powder for ages and it always gave me a smooth under eye finish- no creases. When I saw that they came out with a rose color, I was excited because my skin tone leans very pink and pretty much all products show up yellow on me. I used and applied this the same way that I do with my normal LM powder. It applies fine. Not great, but fine. The issue is that as the day goes on you very quickly start to see all sorts of lines and texture. This never happened with the original formula. Even upon application, you could see lines that you don’t normally see on my face. I honestly thought it was a skin care issue because I never had this problem with the regular formula. I had assumed that this one would perform the same if not better. I changed my skin care routine and spent tons of money on new sunscreens, barrier repair moisturizers, retinol’s... The whole 9 yards. For the life of me, I could not get the finish after setting powder to look how it used to. I then decided to do an experiment. I tried setting one eye with the old formula and one eye with the new formula. Let me tell you... the old formula worked great, and the new formula highlighted every lump, line, and wrinkle. I then did the same test with the new LM formula on one side and the Huda Beauty easy bake on the other side. While the Huda looked yellow on my skin like most setting powders do, it was smooth and flawless, compared to the cracks that almost immediately became visible with the ultra blur LM formula. I did a 13 hour wear test for both my experiments and the results were consistent with the initial application. The original formula and Huda held up a lot better than the ultra blur. Overall, I think there just needs to be a little more testing done on the formulation of this product. The concept of a pink powder is something I love, and would love to remain a loyal Laura Mercier user.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I swiped this talc-free version from a sample on my hand, the finish seemed to be identical to the original. But on a face, with normal oils? No, not on me. On me, it looks cakey and gathers in creases. The color is even different. It truly doesn't seem as finely milled as the original version. With the original, it seemed as if you could NOT apply too much. With this, a light application looks bad in just a few hours. Color me cakey, sad, and disappointed. If you're going to reformulate, make it a closer match, please!
