Leaves don't dissolve well in beverages or baked goods, so we extract the sweetness from the stevia leaf. Because stevia leaf extract is 200x sweeter than sugar, we balance the sweetness with erythritol, a sweetener produced by fermentation. Erythritol is also found in fruits like grapes and pears. This gives you the white crystals you're used to without the calories. Long time Truvia user and I love it. Disappointed in the new smaller packaging format. The tightly sealed pouches make it frustratingly difficult to open without spilling or tearing off some product on the sides. Hope Truvia addresses this issue soon; otherwise, I might consider switching to another Stevia option.

The smaller new Packet size is not a good idea. It is harder to open and sugar is spilled resulting in less sugar being put into cup. Very dissatisfied by the new packet.

TheWe have been buying a large box of Truvía for years. This will be the last time I buy this brand. You have changed the amount of product in each packet. Also, the taste seems different. It tastes more like the “stevia in the raw”, which is more of an artificial taste. I didn’t realize the packet size had changed the first day I used the new box, but I did notice the taste was off. Then I saw the packet change. Reading the comments, whatever changes you’ve made is not working for your consumers, clearly. I see you are telling consumers the sweetness is the same. We are telling you that the taste isn’t.

The smaller packet size is awful. When tear the packet, some of the product spills on the counter, requiring cleanup. Even when shake the packet to try and avoid a mess, spillage still occurs. Will be buying a new sweetener with regular size packaging from now on. Why? Was this not QA’d? All to save money in the guise of environmentally friendly!

I have used trivia for years,I won’t be using it anymore.The new version is awful.I just bought 2 bags and have put them in the garbage.Yuck thanks for ruining a good product.

It starts unsweetened, but then I add my Truvia Stevia packets and I'm good. I use 3 packets per 30 ozs of tea in my reusable cup and am good to go. I carry them in a special Truvia zipper wallet in my purse so that I am never without them. I try to buy as big a box as possible so that I am never without them! I LOVE my Truvia packets.
