A: Yes you do need a drill bit to install the anchor.

A: The staff answer is wrong - It specifically says in the instructions that you do need a drill to install this, with a 5/16" drill bit.

A: I think this all depends on what type of wall material you are hanging these on and how heavy the items you plan to put on them are. I did not use the anchors. I went right into my drywall and I have zero issues with there sturdiness. They are very secure. I don't have extremely heavy items on them either, though.

A: As of February 2021, the small shelves do not appear to be mango wood anymore, but they are solid wood.

A: I recently purchased both sizes of the shelves, and each came with 2 dry wall anchors and screws. You need a 5/16 inch drill bit to place the anchors.
