Q: Has anyone else had problems washing the comforter? It says you can wash and tumble dry... mine ruined and I’ve only had it a month .

  • A: Just washed mine a couple nights ago at the laundromat! The drying took forever, I did get it dry though, used medium heat and kept taking it out and rearranging it every 5 minutes because of it balling up badly. I ended the last 20 minutes on low to get it pretty much finished. It was quite a job I will admit, since it weighs a ton, especially wet. Mine had some thread pulls, which were a defect in the fabric come out and look bad. Will be exchanging mine. Other than that it washed really well!

I actually had exchanged mine with target, followed the direction on washing both times and even changed washers and still ruined it. I would try returning it. Target took it right back even with the defects.

  • A: Usually soaking in OxiClean works. I just turn on the washer for a few minutes. Turn off. Let soak for 60 minutes and then restart washer to finish the cycle.

    This is my second purchase of this comforter and was disappointed how much the quality has changed. It’s not as heavy as it used to be and the non linen side is now a cheap polyester blend.

    Short but comfy

    Looks nice, poor quality..

    Loved the look of this on our bed. However, we went through 2 of them. The fabric is delicate and does not hold up. Does not wash well and has to be taken to a laundromat.

    disappointed and not my first rodeo

    Ordered 2 sets in the same order. The blue came in as usual, as my roommate and I already have 2 from 3+ years ago. The fig is awful. Super scratchy, seams are ripped (stuffing is coming out), and the edges don’t lay flat. This is after washing it, which is a process since it’s a very thick comforter and it takes about 3-4 dryer cycles to get dry, and since it’s linen it’s likely going to be creased. not a major deal and not my first time dealing w this process - however it’s the first time the comforter doesn’t fluff back up. extremely disappointed since it’s my 2nd of my own and i know what they should be like, and the other one i bought seems to be exactly like my previous ones. going to try and return due to poor quality

    Holes and fiber not spread correctly

    I wanted to love it but the first one I got had a hole… then I went to 3 different targets to exchange for another one just for it to have this weird noticeable line in the middle of the comforter. I was better off with the hole.

    poor quality and construction

    i purchased a version of this quilt years ago and was very happy with it. when i repurchased a new color and size, the quality is drastically different. the backing of the quilt is a rough, stiff cotton and the seams are not tucked into the edges. since the seams are exposed, i can see that they have very sloppy stitching and thread tails hanging out. this is a 2 star rating in my opinion, as it’s not a one-off item error but rather a manufacturing issue and decrease in material quality.

    Stunning until it hits the laundry

    This is a beautiful comforter, but be careful! Despite following the wash instructions exactly, it came out with yellow staining throughout. It’s heartbreaking because I really loved the design, but I can no longer use it.

    I'm Buying Another One

    I bought this comforter over 2 years ago for our master bedroom. It has outlasted multiple dry cleanings and two cats who love to lay all over it. I will say, I have only actually put this in a washing machine once due to a spill, otherwise I have it dry cleaned, which is why I think the stuffing has stayed together so well. I didn’t actually read the laundering instructions, but I’d be willing to bet it recommends dry clean only. I love it so much, I’m buying another one when we furnish out guest bedroom.

    Flattens like a pancake when laying on it

    These pillows are fluffy once you let them air up out of the box after a day or two, but as soon as you lay on them at all they flatten like a pancake to the extent that you are basically laying on the fabric and whatever the pillow is on.

    This is my second time buying a Casaluna set. The comforter is great, but the pillowcase covers are HORRIBLE. The zipper and quality is the issue. The zippers always gets stuck on the fabric and makes it really difficult to zip, if not impossible. For the price of Casaluna, the quality does not match the price tag. I will now have to return the pillowcases and try to acquire new ones.
