This company is selling dollar tree quality. Quality does not reflect the price, the bed is NOT sturdy AT ALL. Very disappointed.

Purchased for 7. 5 year old
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased for 7. 5 year old son who is a CLIMBER! He loves the slide and uses his "calming" swing to swing back-and-forth off the top of the slide and back. Quality is top-notch: I was surprised at how STRAIGHT all pieces were and how good the finish was on every single piece. It took 3-4 hours to assemble, although 30 minutes of that was removing number stickers which could use a better adhesive to peel them off easier, plus took time to add floor-protectors to bottom pieces. Another gripe would be the middle step of the ladder--is NOT held together by bolts on the ends like the bottom and top step! It is held in by tongue & groove and probably won't ever pop out, but has 'play' in it when my son stands on it. The whole loft has slight movement if you rock it back and forth, but my thinking is that it's designed to be this way (if it were too rigid, it would crack easier). Still a GREAT addition to our son's bedroom! Highly recommended.

The assembly process was challenging, but me and my spouse did it in about 4 hours or so. My son loves it, although when we get up there with him it's a tad bit wobbly. Other than those two quirks it's just about perfect

Great bed, not perfect but still really great
By in large, this is a great piece of furniture and much of it is rather solid. I had a couple reservations but nothing that would stop me from buying a Max and Lily product. The side rail is a little wobbly and the instructions were a little difficult to follow. Otherwise, very happy with our purchase! The kids love it like crazy!

Slide Bed
Super wobbly when anyone climbs up or down or simply moves around on top. It looks really nice but unfortunately I wouldn't recommend

Returning due to saftey concerns
Unfortunately we have to go through the hassle of returning this. It was purchased thru a target plus parter who would not send a replacement part for a piece that was manufactured improperly. Target staff was helpful getting the return process started and I was happy with Target’s response as they contacted the seller and tried to resolve the issue. I will continue to shop with target, but I would not buy from “max and lily” again. The bed we received had significant wood splits to the pieces of the slide that connect to the bed. It appeared when they were fitted with the internal threading it split and wood glue was applied around the internal metal threads. This did not look or seem stable for a child to be playing on. Also, some areas were predrilled for screws, others seem to be missing. It was missing sinks for bolt heads in places or they were slightly small with jagged edges making it difficult to get on. Directions said to use round head screws when flat head screws were needed on the pieces that hold the steel rod, this would allow enough room to bolt in slats. The white plastic part of the side had a dent in it and the wood lip at the bottom where the wood attaches to the plastic comes up, so right as they would hit the bottom they are met with a half inch of wood sticking up. Ouch. I really liked the design and wanted to make this work, but in the end it was a huge waste of time. I thought if I spend a little extra I’d get better quality, but not with this bed. The issues with the manufacturing raised too many safety concerns for a child’s bed. Fortunately target has an awesome return policy.

Not very sturdy
Description says it can hold 400lbs. If does not feel very secure with less than 300lbs on it. We bought two. One was poorly packed- all of the hardware was in on bag, not separated. Very had to know which screw goes where. Also it was missing 3 dowels and several screws

Beautiful bed!!
I just received this bed and put it together last night. It took around 5 hours from start to finish (including unpacking). I did have my 11 year old son helping me, so that did slow me down quite a bit as I had him do a lot of it. I probably could have got it done in 3-4 hours alone. The directions are ok... there are NO words, just pictures and the hardware doesn't come labeled. So the picture will show what hardware to use with dimensions of that hardware and the item number of the screw- but there is no way to determine item number on the physical screw. Many of the them were very similar sizes and appearance so I had a millimeter ruler to measure the hardware in most of the steps to make sure I was using the right one. I wish they came labeled in individual baggies- it would have been really helpful! Other than that, and despite there not being any words to the directions, I would give it a 6/10 for easy understanding of directions. The slide is FAST. Just be aware the first few times your kiddo uses it until they get used to it. I think the new design of the slide is a REALLY nice upgrade. It gives kids a landing spot to sit down before sliding. The previous slide design they basically have to sit on the edge of the mattress and push themselves off.
