Not What They Were!
I dont know what's happened to these bars. They're hard and the taste is unpleasant. I've eaten them for years, but whatever you've done isn't working!

Mildew Aftertaste
I used to love these for the accessibility, but now they taste ldamp and like mildew! I thought I got a bad batch, so I bought another box, but it was gross too.

Tastes overcooked
I've eaten one of these every day for years but over the last few months the recipe must have a changed or something. They're harder than they used to be and taste over cooked, and like other reviewers have said there's a weird edge to the taste. I hoped it was just a bad batch or something but it's been for a while now. Hope they can fix it, these used to be 5 stars, like a having a sort of healthy snickers but now I don't look forward to it anymore.

Last Two Boxes Tase Like Soap
whatever y’all did to the recipe it has made everything taste like soap now. For the love of God change it back. I was hoping it was just a one off situation with the box that I got, but I tried one from a box that a friend purchased and the same soap taste is there. I won’t be buying them anymore and I’ve been a customer for so many years and used to stock them in my offices as well since I’m in charge of our snacks And now I won’t.

Excellent for decades, but now I'm allergic
So, I ate these for decades. LOVED them, a great compliment with or without lunch, and just the right amount of fiber. I don't know what happened, but earlier this year I thought I had a bad batch, then second box a different flavor also tasted bad. I waited a few months and yup.. same thing. I became allergic to something in them and I'm not sure what. I stay away from gluten so that's why I loved these, and I am fine with tree nuts so i don't know!

Disgusting, Dry, Tasteless I regularly buy Nature Valley products but my regular choice was out of stock so I tried the Peanut Butter, Dark Chocolate Protein bars. Didn't taste like chocolate, didn't taste like peanut butter, was dry and awful. I tried to give it chance so I ate 1 and 1/2 bars - couldn't finish. Very disappointed with GM

Great for years, but now a SOAPY AFTERTASTE!
All of Nature Valley Protein bars taste terrible now, not just these but also the salted caramel nut/variety packs. I have been purchasing these for years but not anymore! The last three boxes have had a soapy aftertaste, which I assume is rancid ingredients. For the money and the "name" this shouldn't be an issue whatsoever.

No Longer Eatable
I recently purchases a box with the expiration date 03 Feb 2026. They are uneatable. There is a horrid after taste. The taste reminds me of acid reflux. There is something very wrong with these.

Taste Bad now.
I have been eating these bars for years. Recently they taste really bad. I thought it was a couple of bad batches but now. I think something has changed I can’t eat them anymore without almost vomiting. So. I will no longer be buying these and will look to find a different source of quick protein for my mornings Mine has a best if used by date of 10JAN2026HN12:35 3A Also. Not a fan of waisting money.

Something changed, they are now awful
I have been buying these for many many years. The ingredients or recipe have changed and they taste horrible now. These now have some sort of chemical burnt aftertaste to them. Whatever the manufacturer changed, they are now inedible.

Something changed. No longer buying.
I have been purchasing these snack bars since I was pregnant with my oldest son who is now 11. It was recommended by my dietitian from the hospital due to my diet restrictions and I thought they were delicious. There has been a recent change in the flavor and I will no longer buy them. They taste gross and chemically. I even purchase another box to double check I didnt get a bad batch. Its truly sad because I basically ate one a day. Whatever was changed in the ingredients has ruined something great. I hope they change it back.

Disappointed by the recent change
I’ve bought these bars for years in a large quantities at Sam’s Club. They’d become a staple as a quick breakfast or snack on the go. Something has went wrong. The bars have shrunk… a lot. They don’t taste the same & I’ll be looking for a replacement from another brand. Not sure why you changed something that was perfect the way it was.

Recipe change - no longer enjoyable!
I used to love these protein bars, they were my go to postpartum. They must have changed the recipe recently because this latest box tasts tastes really artificial and I can barely eat them anymore. Very sad as they were a really affordable delicious choice and now they aren't worth it for the fake protein taste.
