Backing is glued
The backing is glued on. Unfortunately, a lot of Target rugs are like this. I wish they did not put on any backing, and allowed the customer to use their own traditional non-slip rug pad. The backing and glue comes off after a few washes. Then the glue and chemicals goes into your washing machine - returned.

So glad I pulled the trigger on this rug! I got the runner, and it looks great in our hall. Our robot vacuum has no problem running over it, which I was worried about. Our two cats love to run zoomies, so I did have to purchase a sticky rug pad to go under it to keep it from sliding around, but no big deal. The colors are really lovely. The quality is really good for the price!

Love the color/pattern on this rug very versatile. We’ve owned this runner for 1yr 6m. I do have a few of the cream threads coming up however we have a cat that likes to knead into the rug and his nails have pulled up a thread or two. I just trim it with scissors. We used it for a long time by the front door where there’s lots of dirt and foot traffic. This material is not high pile and plush. It holds up very well. Decided to use in the kitchen and it looks beautiful. Great material for the kitchen. Also, my kitchen floor is cheap vinyl but I have had no issues with the runner moving around or when our children run around.
