Q: Will this plastic crack when dropped?

A: Hi - Great question. It is required that we perform drop testing for these plastic food storage containers from 3ft 3 times when empty onto a vinyl tiled concrete surface and the results are satisfactory. Q: Recently purchased this item and it has a plastic #7 which is known to contain BPA. How can we be reassured that this does not have BPA when mutilple reputable sites say to avoid #7 plastics?

While there may be plastics that fall into category #7 that do contain BPA, the plastics in this storage container do not contain BPA, and the containers have been tested to confirm that they are BPA free. They changed these containers to make them not dishwasher safe. I have containers from 2 years ago that are dishwasher safe and the same item listing. I recently ordered again and they are not dishwasher safe. I can tell the difference on these because the new ones have a gray tone to the rim and the old ones are clear and match the aerial image on the product page. But these are perfect for a container that can hold spectra pump flanges and small avent bottles to keep them contaminant free. So it fits my needs, but I wish it were dishwasher safe still.

When these were under the Made by Design brand, they were top rack dishwasher safe. Now they’ve been rebranded Brightroom and are no longer dishwasher safe at all. I didn’t realize the change until after I had already run a new one through the dishwasher and it came out warped. These were such great items but I won’t be buying anymore. If it’s not dishwasher safe, I don’t want it. Also, I’ve had these saved as my favorites for a while now to make reordering easy. Target just changed my favorites to the new version without any notification that they might be different. Not cool.

I've had these containers for over a year and they really help maximize my storage and "pantry" area. The shelves pictured are all that I have for storage outside of a few kitchen cabinets. I also use these in the kitchen cabinets as well. I think I may have doubled my food storage using these containers since they are modular and square. I recommend buying what you need separately over buying the similar set because the set has rounded edges. It's not super airtight but good enough. Check the seals before you buy. Overall, I love them and have no complaints.

I like that the look of these are nice and sleek, however they are NOT airtight and bugs can still get in, even when fully sealed. After the first incident, I have been pouring my cereal into ziplock bags and then putting them into these. Still just as convenient and still looks alright.

I'm very happy with my purchase. Saw these as I was wandering the aisles of Target and purchased a couple different sizes knowing that I would surely find a use for them. They do create a good seal. The plastic, I believe, is BPO free. They are durable enough for any type of storage from food to cotton balls to pantry. As compared to other popular name brands, yes, there is a difference in quality. However, for my purpose - to throw loose Ramen noodle packages or crackers in - they are perfectly fine. If you've ever experienced a pest prblm in your kitchen you know that a sealed plastic container is a 100% better storage option than a flimsy paper box. So these also provide peace of mind. I have spent $$ on other brands for certain food storage like coffee. But if you are just trying to reduce cluttered cupboards & satisfy the organizer freak in you, these are more than satisfactory!

I got these for my bread flour and I want more!! These fit (almost) a full 5 pound bag of flour, you can easily fit a measuring cup inside without making a mess as well. I love how slim they are you can stack them on top of each other or you can store them side by side without taking up much room and they seal very well.
