Q: Is it compatible with fiber

  • A: Does it need to be connected to the wire to work correctly? How is it charged? Do I have to take it out and put it back in to charge it with the cable?

submitted byDomenicali - 8 days ago

Q: as long as it’s connected to Wi-Fi will I be able to use two-way talk ? & get notifications about motion or if someone presses the bell ? or do i have to purchase something else

submitted by LClay - 2 months ago
  • A: The Blink Video Doorbell (similar to the other Blink device models) just needs to remain connected to the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network and you will be able to access it remotely on the Blink app. The Doorbell is unique in that it has something called "Event Response Mode", it automatically enters this mode when it is installed standalone- meaning it is neither hardwired to a compatible transformer, nor connected to a system that has a Blink Sync Module. If it is in Event Response Mode, it limits the ability to perform "cold" live views, which just means you cannot initiate a live view whenever you want. You would have to wait for an "event" or motion, and then have sixty seconds to interact with the notification to open a live view. If you already have a Blink system and have a Sync Module installed and simply add the Doorbell to that system on your app, or hardwire it to a transformer (16-24VAC) the Doorbell will not be in Event Response Mode, and you will be able to perform live views at anytime even if there is no motion detected at that time.

  • A: Hi LClay, Thanks for reaching out about the Blink Wi-Fi Video Doorbell. You are correct, as long as it is connected to a Wi-Fi network you will be able to use the- two-way talk feature as well as get motion alerts. The doorbell also comes in a bundle with a sync module that will allow you to access the live mode feature at anytime without a motion alert. I hope this helps. Have a great day!

Q: does it have live view feed? that you can watch at anytime?

submitted by mom - 1 year ago
  • A: Hi Mom, With the Blink Video Doorbell, you can get alerts when motion is detected or someone presses your video doorbell. You must connect to existing doorbell wiring or pair with a Sync Module (sold separately) to engage live view and two-way audio on demand. You can set it up yourself in minutes with the two included AA lithium batteries then connect to wifi in the app. The Blink Video Doorbell also works with Alexa and you can receive alerts and answer with two-way audio! When wired or paired with a Sync Module, just ask Alexa to answer the front door! Without a Blink Subscription you can see the live view from this doorbell for up to 5 minutes. With a Blink Subscription, you can see live view of the doorbell for up to 90 minutes continuously. Hope that helps!

It comes equipped with 2 AA Lithium-ion batteries that are replaceable that you can get up to 1 year of battery life from (up to years if paired with a Blink Sync Module 2). It does also work with existing doorbell wiring as well. It is also a very simple self install, especially if you are using it strictly wireless. Q: if the batteries freeze in winter, how will this work? thank you!

submitted by Jhildas - 2 years ago
  • A: Hi Jhildas, thanks for reaching out about Amazon Blink Wi-Fi Video Doorbell. Well, cold temperatures are known to cause batteries to drain more quickly. Since Blink cameras are battery-reliant, cold temperatures will cause them to run out of power. Bring your device inside: When it gets cold and your device's battery runs out, bring your entire device inside and charge the battery with a USB cord. This will allow your device to warm up while the battery charges. If you have any additional questions, we welcome you to contact MyTGTtech at 833-848-8324 every day, between 7am-11pm CST.

Do Not Buy - 18 days ago, Verified purchaser
Purchased it back in October last year. It drains batteries super fast and last no longer than 2 weeks. Doesn't have live feature unless you get a notification and you open it right away. Ring notifications are received on the phone like in more than 5 seconds and another 5 or more seconds to see who's at the door. Difficulty with communication. I tried to return it when I still had 5 more days but Target said my return perid was expired. Do not recommend to buy it.

Hello and thank you for your valued feedback on your Blink Video Doorbell. I am sorry to hear about your frustrations with this device. Here are a few tips to help with the problems you are running into. First, if the Live View play button is not visible for your Video Doorbell, your camera may be in Event Response mode. In this mode, Live View can only be accessed from a notification sent to your mobile device when a motion event is detected. Your Video Doorbell enters Event Response Mode if you choose not to add your Video Doorbell to a Sync Module or connect it to compatible chime wiring. The Video Doorbell automatically exits Event Response when you: Add the doorbell to an existing Sync Module. Add a new Sync Module to your doorbell. Connect your doorbell to compatible doorbell wiring. Please note that Blink cameras are only compatible with size AA 1.5 volt Lithium non-rechargeable batteries. Try one or more of the following to decrease your camera high usage: Reposition your camera if you're receiving false motion notifications. Shorten the length of your motion clips. Reduce your use of Live View. Lower your camera's sensitivity setting. Set up Activity Zones to prevent excessive motion clips or false alerts. If possible, only arm your camera when no one is home. Reduce the amount of time your camera is armed when at home. This can be automated by enabling Scheduled Arming. Individually arm and disarm certain cameras within a system. Ensure that your camera has at least 3 bars of signal strength for camera to Wi-Fi. Reduce the use of your camera's illuminator. I surely hope these tips help with your battery life/live view on your Blink Doorbell. Have a great day!

Difficult to set up. Doesn’t work like a ring camera where it’s filming the entire time. It only takes video when someone comes up to the doorbell
1 reply from Amazon Devices Customer Support team - 2 months ago
Hello Kayla! I am sorry to hear about the issues you are having with your Blink Video Doorbell. The length of motion clips to be recorded can be set between 5 and 30 seconds. Please test sensitivity for your Blink Video Doorbell: 1. Tap More on your camera's thumbnail and select Device Settings. 2. Select Motion Settings. 3. On Motion Sensitivity, move the slider two or three increments to the right for a higher numeric setting. 4. Tap Save to save this setting and walk out of the frame of view of this camera. 5. From the main screen of the Blink app, set your system to Armed to enable Motion Detection. 6. Test the camera sensitivity by introducing movement. 7. If the sensitivity is not successful, increase the slider more, save, and try again. 8. If you have adjusted the sensitivity to your liking, proceed to test with a larger moving object, such as yourself. 9. Walk in front of your camera and check to see if the setting gives the desired motion alert. 10. you can also create activity zones to help improve motion detection performance. If these steps don't help, please contact Amazon customer support at 1-888-280-4331 for support. I hope this helps. Have a great day!

Hello, bchbuny1980. I am sorry to hear about the experience you are having with the Blink Video Doorbell. I have some recommendations to try and get your two-way audio working. I recommend you check your mobile device to ensure the Blink app has permission to use the microphone. If you don't see the Blink app listed on your mobile device's Microphone permission list: - Go to your camera's Live View in the Blink app and tap the grayed-out Mic Disabled button at the bottom of the screen. - A "Microphone Access" message displays. - Tap Go to Settings and turn on the Microphone setting for your Blink app. This allows your Blink camera to access your mobile device's microphone so you can talk and hear through the Blink app. If you are still having issues with your Blink Doorbell, I recommend calling Blink customer service for assistance. You can reach them at 1-833-392-5465. I hope this information is helpful. Thank you!

Poor quality camera, constantly freezes, if you want live view you have to buy a seperate device, when you open during motion detection or doorbell ring there is almost an entire minute of lag before opening by that point the “event has ended”. Purchased LESS than a month ago and already have to change the batteries (all motion alerts are off due to lag and inability to live view, and audio cuts out when trying to communicate when someone rings the doorbell. Overall would give a zero and can’t return so out money and a doorbell.. don’t do it.
1 reply from Amazon Devices Customer Support team - 4 months ago
Hello, Thechildfan. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and I am sorry that you are experiencing issues with your Blink Video Doorbell. The Sync Module 2 gives you the ability to go into live view whenever you want instead of only when the doorbell is pressed. The Sync Module 2 can also extend the battery life of the Blink Video Doorbell to 2 years of usage (Battery life of up to two years, based on default settings. Features may vary with configuration and settings. Battery life will vary based on device settings, use, and environmental factors). I do hope this information is helpful. If you have any questions about the device, I recommend calling Blink customer service for assistance. You can reach them at 1-833-392-5465. I hope this information is helpful. Thank you!

This is literally the slowest camera ever made. It takes forever for the screen to load so you are able to watch the camera and it takes forever to show saved footage. The batteries it takes are a little pricey and they die super fast. I would seriously pay the extra money and get a Ring Camera! Overall there is nothing wrong with the camera itself, if it didn’t take so long to load I don’t think it would be so bad.

Too difficult to keep connected. Resetting it often.
1 reply from Amazon Devices Customer Support team - 8 months ago
Hello louisianasue! I am sorry to hear about the trouble you are having keeping your doorbell connected. You may have an issue with the signal strength from your home Wi-Fi which is usually the cause of a device dropping connection often. You can check this by going in to the Blink app on your smartphone and tapping the 3 dots on your device to bring up the device settings. From there, you would tap General Settings. Here you can see the signal strength as well as the Sync Module connection strength if using a Sync Module with it. If the signal is not close enough, you may need a Sync Module, or to move your router closer to the doorbell to get a better connection. I would recommend contacting Blink Customer Support at 833.392.5465 for further troubleshooting options available. I hope this helps improve your experience some and that you have a tremendous day!

1 reply from Amazon Devices Customer Support team - 9 months ago
Hi Knoceda28! Thank you for the feedback! If you find your battery life draining at a higher rate than usual it can be due to high usage. Try one or more of the following to decrease your camera's high usage: Please ensure you are using the suggested battery type which is size AA 1.5 volt Lithium non-rechargeable batteries. Other batteries will not last as long. If your doorbell is also wired please ensure the connections are properly secured. Reposition your camera if you're receiving false motion notifications, and Shorten the length of your motion clip. Lower your camera's sensitivity setting and set up Activity Zones to prevent excessive motion clips or false alerts. You can also ensure that your camera has at least 3 bars of signal strength for the camera to Wi-Fi. I hope this information is useful and if you need further assistance you can reach out to Blink customer support at 1-833-392-5465. Again, thank you for the feedback, and have a great day!

You can also ensure that your camera has at least 3 bars of signal strength for the camera to Wi-Fi. I hope this information is useful and if you need further assistance you can reach out to Blink customer support at 1-833-392-5465. Again, thank you for the feedback, and have a great day!

Hello, musicloverjessica. I'm sorry to hear about the connection issue you're experiencing with your Blink Doorbell. There are some troubleshooting measures you can take to try and fix the problem. I recommend rebooting your Wi-Fi router. Unplug your Wi-Fi router for 30 seconds and plug it back in. Restarting your router can help when your Wi-Fi is slow or stops intermittently. Also, Check the connection between your Wi-Fi router and your doorbell. You can do this by tapping the more icon at the bottom right of the doorbell's thumbnail image and selecting Device Settings, tapping General Settings then locate Network and confirm the Connection to Wi-Fi is sufficient. If these steps do not help and you are still experiencing issues, contact Blink customer support at (781) 332-5465. I hope this helps, have a great day!
