Astro A20 Bluetooth Wireless Gaming Headset for Xbox Series X|S/Xbox One: Adjustable Headband, USB-C Connection

I saw that these were on sale and considered picking up a set as a gift, because I've owned a pair (Gen 2) for about 2.5 years now without any issues. I was surprised to see the poor reviews! I've owned a bunch of different gaming headsets over the decades that I've played video games, and have had the opportunity to use more from friends and family. The Astro A20 is not a fancy-pants headset, but it's great for a middle tier performer. I use it about 4 times a week for a few hours every evening (primarily playing shooters, with an occasional RPG). The sound is clear, without any latency or fuzziness. I can plainly hear and distinguish the direction of foot steps, vehicles, and voice communications from other players without any problems. I am told that my voice comes across clear as well, and have never had an incident of static mic or echos. The audio mixer is on the side of the unit, so I don't have to download an app or anything annoying to enhance one type of sound over another. Setting up the headset is super easy, and the wireless dongle connection is easy to reset or travel with if needed (just plug it in). The headset seems to be pretty hardy. I am generally careful with it, but it has fallen off of the mantle where I keep it several times (5ft drop on wood floors), and every so often a kid uses it. Despite the mild abuse, it still functions as intended. Even with playing a few hours most nights of the week, I still only have to charge it about once per week. It takes a USB-C, and charges fairly quickly. You can use it while it charges too. One annoying thing about the headset is that once it is dying, it makes an incessant beeping pattern through the headset about every 30 seconds until you charge it. Comfort-wise, the headset is super cushioned and doesn't have any porous foam that makes contact with your head, so it's easy to wipe down when needed. It does fit on the slimmer side, so larger heads or wide-set eyeglass frames may suffer a bit until it stretches out a bit (although mine still doesn't have much slack after all of this time). Unless there is a new generation that has some sort of manufacturing defect, the A20 should perfectly suit most gamers looking for a nice wireless headset. I definitely recommend it!

Do not buy these. They stopped working properly within 3 months of purchase.

It’s good the only problem is it dies pretty quick compared to past headsets.

The worst headphones ever , they don’t even hold up a charge. Astros have became trash wow! So disappointed now, the quality is just not the same anymore

Worked fine up until maybe 2 months in the sound stopped working. I tried resetting them, resetting my console and nothing.

These headphones are really comfortable and the microphone is really easy to customize so that it is comfortable near your face. One thing that was a little confusing were the buttons on the side. There are quite a few and it is difficult to know which one does what! The battery life lasted about 3 hours or so after a full charge which was also disappointing. I do like how clear the sound that comes in on them is though and it is really helpful when you need to hear something in an otherwise chaotic environment when trying to work or game. They are versatile and can be used for work meetings or for gaming which is also a bonus.

This is my first Xbox headset however my impression of it is very good! It has a full sound and I can hear even the smallest sounds I hadn’t noticed in my games before. I love that they are wireless as well. The headband is made of rubber so it starts to get uncomfortable after an hour but the foam pad around the ears is soft and very comfortable. Setup was pretty easy with the dongle however after multiple uses it either disconnects or somehow plays sound on both tv and headset. Overall I enjoy these and will continue to use them!!

The A20 headset for XBox is fantastic. The colors are great and all the kids can wear them. The cushioned pads for the ears are comfortable and adjustable. They are very comfortable. The headset eliminates background noise for a clear game sound. They adjustable column is clear and precise. The kids weee so excited with them that my husband even gave them a try. We highly recommend them!

High quality wireless gaming head phones! Excellent clear sound. Comfortable memory foam ear and head pieces. For my kid, they are still a bit large and bulky. The volume controls are easy to adjust and I really love the quick flip to mute feature with the kids! Rechargeable battery that lasts for several hours of continuous play on a single charge. Love saving on batteries!

These are so comfortable and seem to be very high quality. Hubby said he could wear them all day gaming (if he had time haha). They are perfect for use with a gaming device or wearing for virtual work.

Super comfortable, good functionality with button placement, and great sound quality. Would give 5 stars, but every time I turn on the console I have to unplug and re-plug the transmitter from the console for them to work.

This is my first wireless headset from the Astro brand. It’s ok but not what I expected based on other headsets I used. The pros - • They are comfortable and over the ears. They don’t hurt my ears after wearing them a long time like on the ear headsets. They were also not to tight around the head. • They sound pretty good. Better if you have Dolby atmos on ur Xbox. • Others can hear me pretty clearly when chatting. I also like that you can toggle mic off and on just by moving the mic. Want to talk just move the mic down. Don’t need to chat move it up. • it’s wireless and battery last up to 15hrs Cons - • Big one for me personally - Once you connect the usb dongle it will be set on headset format on ur Xbox. Which is fine, all sound will now be coming through your headset and no sound from you tv speakers or sound bar. That’s cool but when you turn off headset you’d think no more headset format and sound will come from tv speakers now. Nope! Only way now is removing the dongle. I really don’t want to plug in the dongle or remove every time. Contacted Astro customer service and that’s the only way. (A work around is the dongle has a button for Xbox and pc. Green light for Xbox, white light for pc. Pressing it to pc will get your Xbox out of headset format and sound will come out from your TV again) • My fellow long-hair gamers watch out. This headset has areas that might pull some hairs when taking it off. Gets annoying. • Headset colors are cool but design is too squarish. Overall it’s an ok headset but I’d personally wouldn’t recommend it.

Sound quality: B+. These headphones have good sound quality and depth with gaming. Also good for surround sound. Comfort: A. Cushion is good for the side of the head and is nice as it doesn’t completely compress the ears or get irritating over hours of use. Cushion on top is comfortable as well. Due to having extra space between the headphones and head there is no swear build up or ears. Adjusting of headphones is nice as it can go exactly where it is comfortable and not fixed points Connectivity: A. Easy to connect with xbox and immediately good to start with.. Look of headphones: A headphones look sleek, clean, and durable. Issues: when headphones are on max volume speakers can be staticy or sound goes off for 1-2 seconds. The static can be frequent at times and be distracting. Overall grade. B+ headphones would be an A overall if not for sound issues as that is the most important aspect. Good price point.
