I was trying to find a new gel and came across this one. I Didn’t like it. It just flakes bad.

I’m two weeks in as a wash and go girly with type 4a hair. I stumbled across AJ gel last night and Today was the first day I came home at the end of the day with the same pretty curls I left with in the morning. I’m pleased to say they remained lovely and I kept glancing into the mirror while at work to gauge the progress as my hair air dried. I’m quite the hair snob about hair products and I’m more of a salon girl so may aim is always well presented hair which is both healthy and stylish. This product gave me curls with a lovely sheen, soft and yet firm without the horrible crunchy feeling that for me is seemingly unnatural. There was no unsightly residue, the gel has a subtle coconut smell, the consistency made for easy application. The most important thing was that I was rushing so without my best effort I felt that my hair pretty and I smiled inside and out all day. I can’t wait to see the outcome of quality time and effort. This product was the affirming confidence boost I needed for my decision to embrace my natural curls.

To flaky did not like the results which did curl my hair but the product was flaky

This product is not for curly haired people. It does not hold up and doesn’t do anything. Will not be finishing it or buying anything else from this brand.

I used to use this with no problem but now it dries my hair out so bad. It doesn’t even look like I put gel in my hair. No definition and no hydration.

This dried my hair out a lot, so much that I couldn’t fix it without completely washing my hair again.

Great quality product and smells fantastic!

Doesn’t make my hair feel crunchy or stiff. I used it to overnight plop my hair and it gives it great defined curls!

I have 4B hair and have been reading reviews and trying various gels for wash-n-go’s. This gel was like water on my hair. It made no impact on my curls and there was no definition or hold. I may try the Don’t Shrink gel with my fingers crossed.

Unfortunately this made my daughter break out all around her neck. It’s such a shame too because her curls looked sooooo good with it in.

This gel is for those who don’t like a crunchy hold, love this when I want soft curls. The smell is amazing and no sticky feeling.

It had no hold whatsoever and it has a weird consistency. I would not purchase again.

This product leaves my curls defined (4a) without any flaking. It also has a minimal smell, the coconut scent is there but it’s not overpowering. One container lasted me about 3 weeks.

I loovvveeeee everything about Auntie Jackie’s products. The “curl boss” really defines my curls and leave them shiny.

My go-to hair gel. No other hair gel works perfectly for my hair like this one.

I have not had much luck with hair gels for my curly hair. They usually end up crunchy, heavy, or just not looking nice. This gel doesn't weigh my hair down, and supports my natural curl pattern. There are no flakes, it's not gunky, and it doesn't frizz!

This stuff is the truth! I love the smell and the hold.

It's a gel. So it works like a gel. You can't play in your hair, after it dries! I use it for my wash-n-go, and it locks my curls in place, with lots of shine!
