Avene Cicalfate+ Restorative Protective Skin Barrier Face Cream

What I received felt more like a tube of water than a cream. It came out as a separated liquid and never blended back together. It was completely unusable and returned next day.

I was having major irritation issues with my skin. I wasn't even sure what was causing it, but a friend told me to try this and use nothing but this and my skin calmed down within 2 days. I'm not using anything but this again. It makes my skin so soft and there is no irritation and no redness. Love this product!

I loved this for 15 years! I would NOT be without it! I gave as gifts and recommended to all my friends. In my November 2024 order it changed! It’s full of water, the consistency of cottage cheese and impossible to use! I am heartbroken!

I bought Calciate by Avène after it was recommended to me following a Morpheus8 facial treatment. The cream leaves my skin feeling super hydrated, calm, and nourished — which I really appreciate, especially after such a treatment. However, there’s one thing that concerns me: every time I squeeze the tube, a clear, watery liquid comes out, separate from the cream itself. I’m not sure if this is normal or if the product might be damaged or expired. It makes me hesitant to keep using it. I would love to hear if others have experienced the same thing or if I should contact the brand directly.

I've been using Avene Cicalfate for years and love it on my perioral dermatitis, eczema, & any other troubled skin areas. It soothes dry burny skin & really feels like it helps create a protective barrier. When someone in the family has a sunburn, wind burn, razor rash, small skin allergy or other broken skin this is our go to.

This moisturizer is amazing. Whenever I’m feeling extra dry or when I’m burnt from the summer sun, this is my holy grail. The only negative is that it can feel a bit greasy so I don’t like to use it as my everyday moisturizer especially if I’m planning to wear makeup. Great night time moisturizer. I do suspect that it would be a great daily moisturizer if you are super dry though.

This is a thick cream which is what I was looking for. A little bit goes a long way so it should last a long time so considering that the price was reasonable. I took a chance and tried this brand it is my first purchase and won't be my last. It is an investment but I'm my opinion well worth it. Thank you!

Something is wrong with the item I have received, it is more than half of the tube a liquid product is baby blue in color which I lost and fell on my keyboard ruining it since I was not expecting to have a liquid product, when I tried to use it for the first time and then a white paste that is what I recognize as my cicalfate of the past, seems like they changed the formula as I do not remember having to deal with that liquid that is almost impossible to mis inside the tube

Have been using for a few years now as my evening moisturizer. Very soothing, skin is soft and dewy in the morning. Highly recommend.

I never purchase with other only with Avene. Because other website is not good compare to Avene

I am so glad I followed the advise of a dermatologist regarding my flaky, peeling, and skin sensitized from tretinoin. Cicalfate+ has been a true rescue balm that I reach for throughout the day, especially surrounding my delicate eye area and nares. Now I can’t live without this balm!!

As many other have said, this product was separated and watery. I was hoping to use it on some very sensitive and painful skin but was extremely disappointed to see I had wasted my money on a dud of a product. I will try to add photos.

The last tube i bought was so watery. No matter what I did or how much i shook it or kneeled it, it would not mix. I used to love this product. Thick creamy paste. Was great for my skin . Not sure what happened. I threw it out.

I have very sensitive skin to products and environment. This cream is essential for me to use at night to restore my skin. Wake up with skin that is not red or irritated

Useful on dry or chapped skin. I have sensitive skin and have had only positive results.

The last four tubes I’ve purchased in a row have had an issue I never experienced with this product before. There’s a clear, watery liquid that seems to have separated from the cream. No matter how much I try to shake the package to remix it, it never mixes up, so I end up dealing with this liquid pouring out of the tube when I try to squeeze out the cream. It’s not only messy and annoying but I also worry I’m losing some beneficial ingredients in the liquid that hasn’t mixed (it looks very light blue).

I have occasional redness and adult acne. This has really helped to clear my skin and make it softer. I’m 69 years old.
