My boyfriend and I play board games multiple times a week. We were hoping we would love this one and add it into our rotation. I enjoy playing this game in all player counts (2 to 4 players). The game can be very competitive at 2 players. The boards feel like they are made of thick cardboard, and the tiles have a nice weight and feel to them. I recommend playing this game on a stable surface. There is an expansion for Azul that provides plastic trays to keep the tiles and score markers in place. The smaller travel version ,Azul mini, is another option that is designed to keep things from shifting around. I personally prefer playing regular size Azul because I like the larger tiles.
