A: Hello and thanks so much for your question! The wood has a clear coat stain to keep the wood protected from moisture. The clear coat is food safe. The color of the lid is not stain, but the natural color of the acacia wood used for the lid.

One time use
I had the same issue as another reviewer. The first time I used them it was no problem, after lightly hand washing them and allowing them to dry I attempted to use it again and it won’t stay pushed down, the lid pops back up, rendering it completely useless. I don’t know what the issue is, I barely washed them.

As they are Ball branded they look really nice with any of the Ball wide-mouth jars. They seal perfectly and the wood adds a very beautiful touch to the finished product.
