Q: Are these jars good for hot tea

A: Hi DC, thanks so much for your interest in the Ball 16oz. 4pk Flute Glass Mason Jar Lid and Band: Clear Canning Jars, Dishwasher-Safe, 2.5" Neck Diameter. These jars are not safe for hot drinks as they are made of annealed glass, not tempered glass. They will crack and break if hot drinks are poured into them.

A: Hi Rose, thanks so much for your interest in our Ball 16oz. 4pk Flute Glass Mason Jar Lid and Band: Clear Canning Jars, Dishwasher-Safe, 2.5" Neck Diameter. We have never tested our jars for making yogurt. The jars are made out of annealed glass, not tempered glass and hot liquids should not be poured into the jars.

These are great to use for glasses. The texture on the glasses make them a little classier than a normal maon jar. The shape makes it easy to hold for drinking. I bought them to make parfaits but I might use some of them to drink out of.

I love how cute these jars are. It’s been almost a year of having them and they’re still going strong. They quite literally will last forever unless you don’t break them as they’re glass. I use them to make a lot of ice teas, smoothies, and many more. They don’t hold a smell as well, unless you pickle something in it (but to be fair that is extreme). But yeah love them!
