Please be sure you are keeping the jar at the same temperature when filling and when removing from the refrigerator. The jars are made of annealed glass, not tempered glass and can break with different temperatures.

Q: What Mason jars that are safe for freezing?
A: Hello, thanks so much for your interest in Fresh Preserving products! The Ball jars that are safe for freezing are our 4oz regular mouth, 8oz regular mouth and 16oz wide mouth, canning jars. The canning jars that are safe for freezing, are straight walled jars, meaning they are straight from top to bottom. The 16oz Flute jars are not freezer safe.

Q: Are these jars good for hot tea
A: Hi DC, thanks so much for your interest in the Ball 16oz. 4pk Flute Glass Mason Jar Lid and Band: Clear Canning Jars, Dishwasher-Safe, 2.5" Neck Diameter. These jars are not safe for hot drinks as they are made of annealed glass, not tempered glass. They will crack and break if hot drinks are poured into them.

Q: Can I use the jar only to make yougurt in the instant pot?

We have never tested our jars for making yogurt. The jars are made out of annealed glass, not tempered glass and hot liquids should not be poured into the jars.
