Black & Decker - Detachable Mower Deck for Black & Decker Trimmers

Perfect little addition to your garden tools especially if you have a small grassy area and don’t want to invest in a lawn mower. I actually saw a man use this on a grave when I was “visiting” family at the cemetery. Couldn’t believe something like this exists! I purchased it to (easily) load in my car along with the already owned B&D lawn trimmer (weed backer!) It snaps into place easily. It has 2 heights. Works wonderful. Black and Decker hit it out of the park with this clever idea. But be careful because only a few of their trimmers fit. I must thank Target for offering it on their app as well as the company who is Target partner. They got it to me faster than Target said they would. However it was shipped in the original packaging and was apparently thrown around a lot by the shipping carrier but thankfully no damage! Highly recommend!

This mower works really well. However, I am having a problem because I don't know how to replace the string. Can someone help?

Where have you been hiding!?!? So easy to use. Light. Effortless. I love the non tapping feature -- that the string comes out automatically -- and the string is so easy to change!

Have had for 1 season. Easy to use. I have a small city yard and it is perfect. Only issue is it needs to be higher. Agree with another reviewer that larger wheels are needed. For trim the lower setting is OK, but the lawn setting should be at least 3".

I use this when trimming around plants I don't want to cut accidentally, but most of all, I use it on a steep hillside in front of our house. That hillside it way too steep for my zero turn mower, and my 73 year old lower back is no longer interested in mowing that area even with a fairly lightweight 20 inch gas mower I have used in the past. This device is TERRIFIC for areas that are steep or hard to access, or both. One of the best lawn care accessories I have ever purchased! My thanks to the design team that created this device!

So, I don't remember how long ago I got this, but I have the deck and an LST 400 trimmer from before there was a lithium combo bundled for this product. I'm on at least my 3rd summer using it. Overall I've been incredibly happy with the ease of use and functionality. I have a small city lot, so this is my only mower. I have about 700 sqft of lawn, so it's the perfect size to use this for everything. There are a few key things that have always been problematic. 1. The way the trimmer connects to the deck has a habit of coming detached. This is especially true as you use it over time. Cleaning the deck thoroughly makes it stay together better, but it still pops out pretty easily and it's had that issue as long as I remember. I wish there was some form of latch to lock the trimmer into the deck. This would make it much easier to use. 2. I have a very bumpy lawn and the lower height setting is worthless here, so I always keep it set to the higher setting. Because the wheels adjust but do not lock into the height in any way, they tend to drop to the shorter setting and sometimes I have to adjust this 2 - 3 times in a single mowing. 3. The height / angle for the handle is awkward for mowing. If you do ever redesign this, it may be worth putting the deck on a slight tilt to raise the angle on the handle. All that said, these are pretty minor things and otherwise I love the ease of use of the product and would recommend it to others who have the right size lawn for it. If you fall into that group with the tiny city lawn, this is a great easy way to deal with it and you don't have to keep multiple tools or deal with gas, but it's not for everyone.
