Bob's Red Mill Nutritional Yeast - 5oz

I love having nutritional yeast on hand for cheese-ifying ordinary meals. I add it to pasta sauce, baked vegetables, and fried tofu. Highly recommend!

Tasty addition to popcorn. However package says ‘large flake’, and what I received was mostly fine powder (not sure if false advertising or a consequence from the handling/shipping) - so while it was good in terms of taste, a bit of a let down in terms of texture

I’m writing this review to correct a claim made by another reviewer below. Vitamin B forms like adenosylcobalamin and methylcobalamin degrade quickly in supplements. If they used these forms, the supplements wouldn't be effective at all. To fix this, they use potassium cyanide to turn them into cyanocobalamin, which is very stable. After you take it, your body changes cyanocobalamin back into adenosylcobalamin and methylcobalamin, and super tiny amounts of cyanide are released—less than 2% of the safe limit for humans. In fact, you’d get more cyanide from eating raw almonds or drinking flaxseed smoothies. Bottomline: Cyanocobalamine is a stable safe form of Vit B12. Just to let you know, your sales would immediately increase ten-fold if you made one small change... stop adding Cyanocobalamin, which converts to Cyanide in the body. If you just feel the need to add more B-12, use Methylcobalamin. Just saying. People are growing very tired of all the toxins being added to our food and supplements.

We love nutritional yeast! Mainly we put it on our popcorn, but also occasionally use it in cooking. Target is one of the cheapest places to get Bob’s Red Mill Nutritional yeast. It is a bit pricey, but the bag lasts a good while!

I'm very much ready to stop buying anything at target. Any item I look for has an alternative product that works nothing like what the original is supposed to do. I got this for dough and hasn't helped to rise at all. But marketed like an actual rising yeast... target needs to stop pushing products we are not even searching for... not the first time they ruined a grocery run for me.

This is a great addition to any diet. Gives a great cheesy flavor to add to any plant-based diet. But, you should acclimate your body by starting off with small amounts (less than a teaspoon), otherwise it may cause gas & bloating. It's definitely worth it!

Someone mentioned how this is not fortified but it is. They have added folic acid. Folic acid is synthetic. For those of us with the MTHFR mutation this would not be a good product for us. Make it unfortified then I'd highly recommend it.

I love using this stuff for everything. Works as a base, topper, anything. Great for pesto too. Just smells a little funny but it’s nutritional yeast so it’s expected.
